Today we shine a light on our incredible Senior Sponsorship Coordinator – Linda Parke. Linda has been with the C5 group for about 6 years, progressing her skills through many different departments. Thank you, Linda, for all your hard work throughout the years! We caught up with Linda to learn a few fun tidbits about her... > how many years have you worked for C5? I have worked at C5 for approximately 5-6 years; I started at CI many years ago, took a rather long sabbatical, (around 22 years), and returned to the fold in 2021. >Have you always worked in your role? If not, what was your career progression to get where you are now? When I started at CI, I was a junior, junior, admin. CI took a chance and gave me the opportunity to show that someone without traditional ‘office skills’, could strive and thrive in a structured office environment. I learned and worked in different departments, finally settling in Event Management, with some sponsorship cross-over duties. Working in all these areas really gave me a great overview of what we truly produce – a great product and service. During my sabbatical, I also developed the skills that sponsorship required, which I could bring back to the company. >What is your favourite C5 Group event or portfolio to work on? I don’t really have a favourite event or portfolio that stands out - working different portfolios brings unique challenges and a great opportunity to learn about the subject matter and people you work with. Like a puzzle, it shows what each department brings to the table to give a complete picture of a finished event. >Describe your team in 1 word! There isn’t one word to describe my team, but a combination of Fun; Professional; Appreciative; Supportive, and so much more! They are a great group of people, and I am constantly learning from them! > Secret fun fact about you!  I currently hold my Red Seal Certificates as a Chef, as well as a Master Baker-Pâtissier. Hey Q2 👋 Instead of boring you all with my Q1 achievements, I want to hone in & focus on my biggest achievement this quarter, something which I recommend to my network... Do things alone. & I mean... 👉 going to launch events/networking events etc... alone 👉 working out/going for a walk alone 👉 having a meal out alone I realised I am CONSTANTLY with people (which I am very grateful for) but this rarely ever meant I was stepping outside of my comfort zone & meeting completely new people, I barely ever needed to pay attention to my surroundings or even get a moment with my thoughts. I get my BEST ideas when I am alone & more likely to work on them, there & then. I've also met some of the most interesting people by going to events alone & actually having the time & patience to listen to get to know people properly (rather than keeping an eye out for a friend) Thank you The Dally team who sent out their launch party invites with a strict no plus ones rule - I finally got out of my comfort zone & dragged there alone. More training today ready for going live in the best new venue in town (and the biggest in the UK, 3rd biggest in Europe I believe)! Stepping into a new event control room team is like embarking on an exciting adventure. Sure, there are challenges ahead, but there's also the promise of building something incredible together. As we gather in this incredible new space, our priorities are clear: teamwork, communication, and trust. Why? Because these elements will form the backbone of our success. When we work together seamlessly, sharing insights, ideas, and responsibilities, we're not just managing events; we're orchestrating unforgettable experiences for our fans direct from the beating heart of the venue. But it's not just about the tasks at hand. It's about the people - the amazing colleagues who I hope will soon become friends. There's something special about forging bonds in the midst of action, overcoming obstacles, and celebrating victories together and then being able to extend that to the wider venue team. I'm genuinely excited to embark on this journey and I know that we'll all bring our unique strengths to the table, support one another, and create an environment where camaraderie thrives. Together, our team will not only excel in our roles but also make lasting memories that extend far beyond the event control room.
