I am profoundly thankful my shoulder is 99% back to normal. This means I can get back to job-hunting and promoting my ghostwriting business in earnest. It's been a long road and I have nothing but compassion for those who suffer from chronic pain. Think about how much your business spends on advertising. It's a lot. I know how much ads in traditional media outlets cost. I can craft an educational email course for you that drips out to subscribers over 3, 5, or 7 days on the subject of YOUR choice. It can raise engagement with your website up to 50%. (Most sites have 1-5% engagement.) It helps you collect more email addresses so you can send potential clients your newsletter and updates, keeping them engaged with your site. Interested? Want to see a sample? Everybody is focusing 100% of their efforts on writing copy that converts. But here’s the thing - not all copy should convert. First, you need to build authority. 1️⃣ Building authority isn’t just a nice-to-have. It makes all your future content work. Because when people trust your voice, they listen. They follow. And eventually, they buy. 2️⃣ Think about it - why do people keep coming back to certain voices online? It’s not just because they sell well. It’s because they know those voices deliver value, insight, and reliability. 3️⃣ If you want long-term results, you need to show your audience that you’re a reliable source first. Not just someone selling to them, but someone they can learn from and rely on. 4️⃣ The goal isn’t just to convert. It’s to build a reputation so strong that people come to you without needing a hard sell. 👉 Trust leads to conversions. And trust is earned through authority.

When writing copy for your company website, stop writing what you want the audience to hear and give them what they came to find out. They want validation on both brand and products and the reason to choose your services over competition. It’s about validation, your team can provide the detailed information through sales channels. Have CTA’s on every page that drive the sale and desired path for the consumer.

Here's the reason people are ignoring your copy! (you might not even pay attention to it) Ever wonder why people just skim past your content without a second thought? Here’s the thing – your headline could be holding you back. The purpose of a headline is simple: to get people to stop what they are doing and start reading (or watching) whatever it is you put in front on them. Whether it is a sales letter, a video sales letter, an ad, a Facebook post, a blog post, an article, whatever it is, headline will determine its success without exception. Bottom line: You have to write great headlines. That's the number one skill everybody needs to develop, no matter what you sell or who you sell it to. You’ve got a few seconds to catch their attention… make each one count.

The Power of the First Sentence: How to Hook Your Audience Immediately? When it comes to copy writing, your first sentence is your best shot to grab attention. In a world full of distractions, the average person spends just 8 seconds deciding if they’ll keep reading. That’s why the opening line is critical. Here are 3 ways to make sure your first sentence hooks the reader: 1. Start with a Question Make the reader think or reflect on their own situation. Example: “Are you making these common mistakes in your marketing copy?” 2.Use a Bold Statement Something that challenges conventional thinking or piques curiosity. Example: “Everything you know about selling online is wrong.” 3.Create Urgency Give them a reason to keep reading, by implying they’ll miss out if they don’t. Example: “You’re losing potential clients every day, and here’s why.” Whether you’re writing a blog post, email, or sales page, your first sentence sets the tone for everything that follows. Get it right, and you’ll keep them reading all the way to the call-to-action. What’s your go-to hook for grabbing attention? Drop it in the comments! 👇

Don’t read this if you love getting ignored... The only way to grab your potential customers’ attention is by writing copy they can’t ignore. Copy that pulls them in, speaks their language, and keeps them hooked. How do you do that? Start with extensive market research. Go deep into your prospects’ behaviors, preferences, and pain points. The clarity you gain here will set you apart and give you a massive edge. At this point, you can start writing and already win. But if you’re not a complacent marketer… And want to turn your copy from good to powerful. Use emotional language! Speak to their desires, their fears, and their goals. This is the kind of copy that keeps your reader engaged until the very last word. And there will be no hesitation when they get to your CTA.

Legalese. It's something many lawyers are known for. ⚖️ But while this dense, technical approach to language is necessary for contracts and arguing in court, it’s less appealing when you’re writing a persuasive blog, practice area page, or social media post. Here are tips to make your writing more relatable: ✅ Simplify your language. Write like you’re explaining your job to your great aunt Ida at Thanksgiving—keep it high-level, engaging, and jargon-free. ✅ Use short sentences and paragraphs. Help your readers skim through content by chunking it into short segments. This isn't taking the easy way out—the shorter it is, the more people will read it. ✅ Use calls-to-action. Do your readers know what you want them to do next? They won't without a CTA. We recommend one CTA per page/blog article. Keep it clear so customers know what action to take. ✅ Focus on pain points and solutions. Address the problems your prospects face and how you can solve them, building trust and reliability in your firm’s services. If you're getting ready to draft any kind of marketing copy, make sure to save this post for reference.
