It’s hard to keep up with the amount of great content from the #FutureForward conference... Parbinder Dhariwal and Andrea D'Emidio shared amazing insights from their journey in building a highly transparent retail media partnership, moderated by Jeffrey Bustos, who everyone in #RetailMedia should know. If only one takeaway from the CVS Media Exchange (CMX) lens of the presentation, it’s this: In building a Retail Media Network, how do you get alignment from merchant and media perspective?? The key is to truly understand that the merchant org and the supplier are two equally important customers of the RMN, but to also ensure you keep the in-store customer at the center of everything you do Gems from the Kenvue side of things: “If we're not looking at the quality of the measurement, then we risk eroding trust”... (my comment: That may even be putting it lightly) And so what about measurement? You can use sophisticated marketing mix modelling, but that will always lag 1-2 quarters, so you also need a way to find those shorter-term intermediate signals. So what’s next for measurement? Parbs says It’s going to be how do we think about in-store. Hearing #RetailMedia leaders from both the retail and the brand side of the equation saying these things in a forum like the #FutureForward conference makes me very excited for the future of the TruRating in-store measurement practice.
