How Can I Hire the Right Engineers for My Thriving Flutter App? Answers: https://lnkd.in/geSSdzt8 #MVPSuccess #StartupJourney #EngineerHiring Hey everyone! 🚀 I’m beyond excited to share that my MVP is really taking off! We’ve built the mobile app using Flutter, and it’s been an exhilarating ride. But here’s the deal: as a Software Engineer myself, I’m feeling a bit apprehensive about hiring my first team of engineers. 🤔 When I started this journey, I was juggling my day job (which can be quite demanding) and the growth of my MVP. So, I decided to bring on two developers to help build the prototype. Thankfully, it worked out beautifully, and we’re on track to be self-sustainable for at least the next year! 🎉 However, the initial developers aren’t looking to transition to full-time roles, no matter what I offer in terms of equity or salary. Plus, my network isn’t the largest, which adds to my concerns. Now that I’m ready to go full-time, I know I need to find a solid core team of at least 5-10 engineers. Here’s what’s been weighing on my mind: **How do I find and hire those first 5-10 stellar engineers?** 🤷♂️ **I’m also thinking about the t...

Sometimes, it’s hard to pinpoint why you feel demotivated or unhappy at work. You might think the issue lies somewhere else, but no matter how much you try to fix it, the solution remains elusive. For me, I’m used to solving problems and having everything under control. But recently, I found myself on a personal journey of introspection. It’s been a mix of fear and excitement—sometimes scary, sometimes invigorating. After spending time surrounded by family and friends, I finally realized the core of my struggle: I wasn’t doing what I love most. What truly excites me is coding! Building complex, challenging iOS apps for millions of users, brainstorming technical problems, and sketching out solutions on a whiteboard with brilliant engineers—that’s my element. That’s where I thrive. Yesterday, it all clicked. I woke up and said to myself: I’m a Software Engineer who codes. After 14+ years of developing apps, I know this is my calling, and I couldn’t be more motivated to embrace it. Right now, I’m diving into those challenging coding interviews, and I’m ready for my next adventure. If you know someone hiring for a Senior, Lead, or Staff iOS Engineer, let me know—I’d love to connect!

Hey guys, Just came across this post from Alex Chiou, cofounder at joinTaro.com, and I really wish this course had been around when I was in college! Huge kudos for creating such an awesome resource—it’s exactly what I needed back then. • Real-world contributions often look quite different from classroom learning (though that’s important too! 😅). Open source is where the real learning happens, bridging the gap between theory and practical, hands-on experience. • That’s exactly where James Pearce and Alex Chiou’s course comes in 🚀. It’s beginner-friendly and guides you step-by-step on how to contribute to open source💥. Check their resource out here 👉 https://lnkd.in/g9g_SZcE #opensource #softwareengineering #techcareergrowth #learnbydoing #growthmindset
Too many engineers think they can fix 2 typos in the React README and then get an interview with Meta. Open-source software isn't some transactional tool that you can game to get opportunities at top tech companies like FAANG. It's something that the world's best engineers work on due to their passion for writing great code that helps millions of others write great code. Someone who knows this better than anybody else is James Pearce, a Meta Engineering Director who was Facebook's Head of Open Source for 4 years. We spent 100+ hours working with James to make a 25-part course on how you can actually get into open-source to level up your skills and ship impact. It's beginner-friendly and filled with examples. If you genuinely follow its advice, you will probably get some interviews at top companies on the side too (but don't make that your main motivation 😉). Good things come to those who don't expect it. Take the course here: https://lnkd.in/g9g_SZcE #techcareergrowth #softwareengineering #opensource #meta
