My main takeaway is that we are sustainable, and we need to document it more to show the rest of the world our work. There are also efforts to include smallholder farmers. Interestingly, export strategies may be our best bet for stabilizing prices for South African red meat consumers, and there are already efforts underway to open new markets for exports. Here’s a PSA about the everyday manipulation of information: I’ve seen these Alpine Fresh, Inc. blueberries at multiple stores now. They’re always next to each other. One is $3.99 for 551 ml and the other is $6.99 for 18 oz. Which one is a better price? Every store I’ve seen breaks it down for you. If you check the labels, you’ll see that one is $6.21 per pound and the other one is $7.98 per quart. Straightforward? Absolutely not. This labeling is done intentionally, designed specifically to be confusing. The 551 mL package at $3.99 is actually the better deal with a price per pound of approximately $3.28 compared to the $6.21 per pound of the 18-ounce package. It’s almost double the price. Yet, I’m willing to bet that most consumers will grab the larger bin thinking that it’s a better deal per pound and not think twice. I’m also betting Alpine Fresh, Inc. thinks the same. Shameful. (These use cases are HIGHLY likely to NEVER apply to me...) Hear Me Out: GMC’s Crab Walk Mode Is Actually Good It's a gimmick—there's no denying that. But the novelty is what makes it so good. I wasn’t convinced customers would ever use it, so I asked a GMC spokesperson. I was given a couple of scenarios that sound like logical problems Crab Walk can solve. For instance, if you accidentally veer off into a ditch on the side of a trail and need to get out, when you turn the wheels and accelerate you’re relying almost entirely on two tire sidewalls for grip. But with Crab Walk, you’re doubling that level of grip while only moving sideways, instead of moving forward and trying to rotate sideways. Backing up to a trailer can also be made easier if there isn’t enough room to turn the truck. It’s going to be one of those features that isn’t necessary all that often but when it does come in handy, customers are going to be glad they have it. https://lnkd.in/e2DVRs6H
