I'm happy and honoured to announce that I am joining Dagens logistik ("Logistics Today", the major Swedish news outlet in logistics) as a columnist starting today. When I introduce myself I often say that I have been frustrated since 1989. My frustration is mainly grounded in the fact that we have computerised the industry but not get digitalised it. Many of my columns will therefore be about these things. AI, digital and tech are the areas where I spend most of my time and we really, really need to start some new conversations on these topics. My ambition is to do just that. Even though the columns are originally published in Swedish, I will also publish videos in English with the same content so that non-Swedes can partake in the discussions. The first column is, of course, about AI and how we need to approach it. Please read and comment. AI can sometimes go hilariously wrong: McDonald's tested an AI ordering system in 100 US restaurants but stopped due to numerous funny and chaotic errors. Customers received bizarre orders like ice cream with bacon or hundreds of dollars worth of chicken nuggets. Despite a claimed 85% accuracy, the remaining 15% caused too many issues.
