Most of you don't know about my work with Learn Grow Lead and Children Helpers Foundation (our partner organization in Cape Coast, Ghana). Over the past decade+, we have built a home for unhoused children, paid for hundreds of children to attend school, and leased (and then purchased) ten acres of organic farmland. As a very small, all volunteer run organization, it has not been easy for us over the past years to keep up with the needs of the children in the Shaisiri Home as well as the kids who have families and places to live but need help with school fees. Not to mention, trying to buy ten acres of farmland, and hoping to buy ten more acres for our partner to reach full self sufficiency. We have a couple of immediate needs so I thought no one would be better to connect with than this community. First off is Ruth Coleman. She is 14 years old, lost her father at a very young age and then was abandoned by her mother. After her father's death, Ruth moved in with her 76 year- old grandmother. She started selling sachet water to make a living until she was admitted into our care. This week, she was rushed to the hospital from school. Her scan indicates that she need surgery to remove an endometriosis cyst. Fluid has accumulated in her womb and she is in a lot of pain. The initial bill from the hospital prepared this morning was Ghc7,138 or approximately $463.21 as of this minute. The second need is for food. LGL has not been able to fund a full month of food for the orphanage for a while, but we try to send $500 a month towards food costs. If you feel called to donate (and get that tax deduction), please go to our website. The funds will go towards whichever need you designate. https://lnkd.in/gvzhNeX6 Please reach out if you need any additional info. All donations, minus any banking fees, goes directly to fund the needs of our kids.

Does anyone reading this want to help some children? We started a mission to provide care packages to an orphanage in Uganda and need your help as we have depleted our resources and still have packaging and shipping needs that need to be met. 100% of all proceeds are going directly to these needs and should we be blessed enough to exceed these expenses we will be allocating all other funds to providing additional needed items in our care packages. I know the scrutiny and stereotypes that surrounds these types of requests. This was not at all the type of mission I had ever envisioned myself donating to, let alone becoming directly involved in. These are the charities that I scroll right past, same as you, but for some unknown reason God put a demand on my heart to respond to this particular organization that I couldn't deny or ignore. I own a welding business. I don't know the first thing about raising funds. I didn't ask for this, but here I am. I could just walk away and ignore the calling, that didn't work out so well for Jonah. I've prayed on this a lot and asked God just about every question you can imagine, and here's the conclusions I've arrived at: Why me? I know what it's like to be a child abandoned, neglected, abused, unwanted and forgotten. I can relate to them in a way that most cannot comprehend. Why Uganda when we have so many people and even children in need right here in the U.S.A.? We also have an innumerable amount of charitable organizations and other resources already dedicated to our own people the likes of which these children could only dream of having available. In my eyes, a child is a child. I don't care where they were born or what language they speak, they're no less deserving because of a geographical location that they have no control over. If you're moved to help me help these children- there are 36 housed at the orphanage from toddlers (3-4 years old) to 14 years old including one 14-year-old mother with a one-year-old baby. There are 31 additional children in the village who rely on the shelter to provide them with what little nourishment that they can.- Please leave a comment, message me directly, repost for awareness... whatever you can do, just please don't be another person in the world that ignores and abandons these children.

Hiking for Hope: Supporting SOS Children’s Village, Hai Phong I'm embarking on a challenging hike up Nui Ngoa Long in Vietnam to raise funds for the SOS Children’s Village in Hai Phong. I will be fundraising until April 2025, when I will complete the hike and personally deliver the donations to the orphanage. My fiancé’s roots are in Hai Phong, and our visits to Vietnam have always been a heartwarming experience. However, it’s impossible to ignore the stark reality of poverty that persists in many parts of the region. Since 1996, SOS Children’s Villages has been a beacon of hope, providing a loving home and quality care to orphaned and vulnerable children. Their work in Hai Phong is truly inspiring, and I’m determined to do my part to support their mission. Your Donation, Your Impact How Your Donation Can Help: £10: Can buy a child a month's supply of school supplies. £15: Can provide essential medical care. £50: Can fund a child's education for a month. £100: Can support a family's needs for a whole month. Once you donate, I will withdraw funds directly. This is the most efficient way to donate, saving time and costs. I will personally purchase the necessary supplies and deliver them directly to the SOS Children’s Village in Hai Phong in April 2025. My Challenge, My Goal: I am challenging myself to hike Nui Ngoa Long and my goal of £750 will help fund: Essential supplies: such as food, clothing, and hygiene products. Educational materials: to support the children's learning. Medical care: to ensure the children's health and well-being. Every donation, no matter how small, makes a significant difference. Join me in this adventure and help us create a brighter future for the children of Hai Phong. Please donate and share to help me reach my £750 goal! Let's make a difference together! #charity #fundraiser #nonprofit #makeadifference #Vietnam #HaiPhong #SOSChildrensVillage #orphanage #education #healthcare

My Reason for Supporting Cradle of Hope this Christmas... The Cradle of Hope organisation is one which I’ve always held close to my heart. I was lucky enough to be one of the many children that the charity has placed into loving homes- part of a mission that has already managed to place more than 3,600 children in homes all over the world. Now I can say with confidence that I have joined Cradle of Hope’s Phone-a-Thon taking place from the 1st to the 8th of December. Looking back on all I have achieved so far, I cannot ignore the many children whom I know are still out there, hoping to be adopted and to find a loving family. And that’s what Cradle of Hope is for- creating families, but also appreciating each and every child. It’s not about age, or having a disability. The work of Cradle of Hope covers countries like Liberia, Nigeria, Kazakhstan and makes, not just hope, but a difference every single day and touches lives. But the work is far from done. Even at this very moment, there are many thousands of children spread all over the world who are still seeking their opportunity for a brighter future. Donating to Cradle of Hope’s Phone-a-Thon campaign, I’m not just with an organisation that helped transform my life – I am creating the same opportunities for other children who need it the most. It’s not a question of donations; it’s a question of making an impact on a child. I can’t even think of where I’d be if I hadn't been adopted through Cradle of Hope, and I completely understand that there are several others who are out there waiting for such an opportunity. ✨ https://lnkd.in/eAEedSSD

We have visited an orphanage and shared some biscuits!!! It's a simple act of kindness that can brighten the day of a child😊. Here are some thoughts on our experience: Impact: Even a small gesture like sharing biscuits can be meaningful to a child. It shows them that they are cared about and thought of😁. We played some games and read them a story in addition to sharing the biscuits👍. We have enjoyed the experience, and let's consider volunteering at the orphanage regularly. This would allow you to build relationships with the children and have a more significant impact on their lives💫😊. Here are some resources if you're interested in getting more involved with orphanages: Volunteer opportunities: Many orphanages rely on volunteers for various tasks. We can search online or contact orphanages in nearest area to see what opportunities are available😊. Donation drives: We could organize and donate things like clothes, toys, or school supplies for the orphanage😁. Overall, A act of kindness shows compassion and a willingness to help others. Keep up the good work!!! 🙂 #Orphanage #Volunteer #helpothers #charity #donate #childern #spreadkindness

Exciting news in the philanthropy world! Renowned entrepreneur Dick Smith has made a generous commitment to donate his $300 energy rebate announced in the Federal Budget this week to the Salvation Army, urging fellow millionaires to follow suit. Dick Smith's message is clear and inspiring: "Not all of us need that money. There are millions of Australians that are doing OK. Donate the money to an important charity and that means the money won't be wasted." In a time where every little bit helps, this gesture of kindness demonstrates a powerful way to make a significant impact. This act of generosity can serve as a reminder of the impact we can have when we redirect resources to where they are most needed. So many Australian families, including kinship and foster care households face significant financial challenges daily. For carers, additional financial support really does go a long way, grants for the purchase of items for the children and young people in their care can mean the world, especially when the cost of living is so high. Through our fundraising at OzChild we can help with the costs of tutoring, counselling, car seats, and even prescription glasses for kids – practical items that make caring a little bit easier. But we can’t do that alone. No not-for-profit organisation can, we rely on the generosity of others to make it possible for us to help lighten the load for families. Let’s join forces to make a difference! I encourage everyone who can, to consider this impactful choice. Whether it’s a donation to the Salvation Army, OzChild or another charity close to your heart, let’s turn our rebates into a collective effort for good. #Philanthropy #SocialImpact #GivingBack #CommunitySupport

Despite our limited resources, we're dedicated to providing for vulnerable children who have been orphaned, abandoned, or marginalized. We express love through: - Providing food and shelter - Supporting education and personal development - Offering medical care and emotional support Our love is not limited by our resources; it's driven by our compassion and commitment to making a difference. You can be part of this love story!
