Total exp- 4-6 Location: Gurgaon Tasks & Responsibilities:   Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback  Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases considering functional, non-functional requirements.  Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities.  Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs.  Design, develop and execute manual and automation scripts.  Participates in agile ceremonies taking into consideration product and process requirements during the development lifecycle.  Follows defined engineering process during the development lifecycle.  Proactively works with other team members as needed to resolve issues and meet project goals.  Collaborates with the development team on bug fix verification and validation  Supports, designs, develops, and enhances test processes and reporting for QA processes for ongoing and new projects  Continually research and experiment with different agile testing methods and tools to improve our process and the quality of our services Technical Proficiency: • Proven work experience in software quality assurance • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools like Selenium testing tool, PyCharm etc. • Use of defect tracking tools similar to JIRA, TFS, ServiceNow, ALM • Proficient in all forms of functional testing across all browsers and devices. • Knowledge in non-functional testing like security, performance, PCI compliance. • Proficient in SQL and able to test backend based functionalities. How has test automation changed over the years? A few years back QA Automation Engineer used to write 1000 to 1500 lines of code on average in 40 hours / week. But nowadays the same QA Automation Engineer use to write 4000 to 6000 lines of code on average in 40 hours / week. Work productivity expectations from QA Automation Engineer increase almost 4 times over the years. And if you have survived this transition phase, you can comfortably execute your IT job as QA Engineer over next 10 years. I don't expect this work productivity expectations to significantly change over the next few years as it's already at peak and may sustain here for next 4 to 6 years at least. Ankur C

For example, the job post and job description are for a Software Quality Engineer then after accepting the position you learn your primary responsibility will be Testing. QA professionals understand the difference between “Testing” and “Quality Assurance”. Quality Assurance is about early detection and prevention of defects. Quality Control (testing) is about finding bugs in the product prior to release. These are two vastly different disciplines.
