The French startup ecosystem has experienced fantastic growth in recent years. From 2017 to 2020, investments in startups showed a continuous growth, unaffected even by the pandemic in 2020. In 2021, investments doubled, reaching a peak in 2022 when the French startup ecosystem raised a record €13.5 billion. Unfortunately, this trend came to a halt in 2023, a pattern observed not only in France but also across the rest of Europe. But the big news don’t end here. Paris is on a mission to become Europe’s largest startup ecosystem, and the numbers indicate they’re on their way. With approximately 12,000 startups in the metropolitan area, Paris boasts a staggering number, surpassing both Berlin and London. Here’s a quick rundown 👇 📈 With a total of 42 funding rounds completed, Latvian startups showcased what they’ve got, pulling in at €49.9M in capital raised in 2023. 💼 Largest deals include @Monetizr (€3.8M), @Insrt Labs (€2.1M), and @Morty (€2.1M). Rumour has it that there are two more large deals that haven't been disclosed.
