Here below the link for the published work https://lnkd.in/eSKDVF5H Title: 0.6-V, μW-Power Four-Stage OTA With Minimal Components, and 100× Load Range Authors: Marco Privitera, Alfio Dario Grasso, Andrea Ballo, Massimo Alioto Abstract: A four-stage operational transconductance amplifier (OTA) for ultralow-power applications is introduced in this letter. The proposed circuit inclusive of frequency compensation requires minimal transistor count and passives, overcoming the traditionally difficult compensation of four-stage OTAs and bringing it back to the simplicity of three-stage OTAs. At the same time, the proposed circuit achieves high power efficiency, as evidenced by the > 3.7× (> 11.3×) improvement in the large-signal (small-signal) power efficiency figure of merit FOM,L (FOM,S), compared to prior four-stage OTAs (sub-1 V multistage OTAs). Thanks to the lower sensitivity of the phase margin to the load capacitance, the proposed OTA remains stable under a wide range of loads (double-sided as in any three- and four-stage OTA), achieving a max/min ratio of the load capacitance of > 100×. #gain #OTA #lowpower #CMOS #electronics #analog #greenIC #IEEE

<FeFET for CMOS logic> "Channel Mobility With Higher-k Doped-HfO 2 for CMOS Logic" is now available in IEEE TED. https://lnkd.in/grxFfPaw While negative capacitance FETs (NCFETs) have driven much of the early focus on ferroelectric devices for CMOS logic, FeFETs still hold a promise. With the higher-k HfZrOx films, FeFETs in 'logic mode' offer both higher drain current and lower SS. Just as the rise of HKMG technology in the 2000s sparked concerns over channel carrier mobility degradation, carrier mobility degradation with higher-k doped-HfO2 films should be discussed. In our study, we demonstrate that FeFETs with the higher-k HfZrOx show no mobility degradation compard to HfO2, and we provide plausible origins. Please enjoy our paper. Modern power systems' "high frequency" concept signifies a significant shift towards new possibilities. High-frequency AC (HFAC) microgrids, characterized by bus frequencies ranging from several Hz to tens of kHz and beyond, represent a critical departure from low-frequency AC (LFAC) systems. We are pleased to announce that we are the first to develop and test an HFAC testbed on the IEEE 33-bus system, addressing a notable gap in the literature. This benchmarked testbed provides ample opportunities for further research and experimentation. Our work serves as a valuable resource for beginners, academicians, and power infrastructure strategists working in this field. I am thrilled to share that our latest research paper is now online! I extend my heartfelt thanks to Professor Wencong Su and Professor Wang Mengqi from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Michigan-Dearborn, for their invaluable guidance and support. Collaborating with them on discussing novel ideas, implementation strategies, and the far-reaching impacts of our work was incredibly enriching. 📄 Paper sharing: Open-Circuit Switch Fault Diagnosis in Single-Phase CHMC with Switching Duty Ratio-Based Estimated Grid Current We are pleased to introduce the paper "Open-Circuit Switch Fault Diagnosis in Single-Phase CHMC with Switching Duty Ratio-Based Estimated Grid Current" written by Hyeon-Woo Oh, Dongho Choi, Jeong-Yul Bang, and June-Seok Lee from Dankook University. The paper was presented at the 2024 IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition (APEC). Know more about this paper: https://lnkd.in/gJ3d5gyM 👉 Brief Introduction This paper introduces a method for diagnosing open-circuit switch (OCS) faults in single-phase cascaded H-bridge multilevel converters (CHMC) using an estimated grid current based on the switching duty ratio. The proposed technique estimates the grid current through the switching duty ratio of each switch during the control period. The faulty switch pair is then identified by analyzing the sign and magnitude of the residual between the estimated and sampled grid currents. Finally, the location of the faulty switch is determined by comparing the magnitude of the residual with the reversely calculated residual. DSIM simulation results confirm the effectiveness of this approach.   ✅ Verify the effectiveness of the OCS fault diagnosis techniques using DSIM In the topology where DSIM is used to verify the effectiveness of OCS fault diagnosis techniques, the gate voltage is 100 V, the gate frequency is 60 Hz, the module DC-link voltage is 60 VDC, the switching frequency of CHMC is 1.67 kHz, the control period of CHMC is 200 μs, the DAB output voltage is 40 VDC, the switching frequency of DAB is 10 kHz, and the Filter inductance is 1.9 mH. I’m proud of my first peer-reviewed paper about active EMI filters, which is available on IEEE Xplore and will be published on Transaction on EMC end of this year. This paper introduces a feedforward current sense current injection active EMI filter (FF CSCI AEF). Compared to other AEF, this topology provides grid impedance-independent stability and high attenuation. This is especially important in medium and high-power industrial converters, where a prediction of grid impedance is not possible in many cases. The improved topology provides a high attenuation of more than 42 dB and reduces the filter weight of a 16 kW AC/DC converter by more than 30 %. These results confirm the advantages of this AEF compared to more known voltage sense topologies. I would like to thank my supervisor Prof. Stephan Frei and my coauthor Dr.-Ing.
