3 years ago today I hung my belt up and stepped off the shop floor as a leading hand scaffolder and into my role as NT manager of GGC Industries. It definitely hasn’t been an easy road. It’s been paved at times with periods of self doubt and insecurity. Also with the massive highs of big wins and success. But one thing that never wavered has been my ability to take things in stride, learn, grow and get up again tomorrow to do it all again. I’ve managed to build an incredible team (with whom none of this was possible) an amazing devision of our business and some amazing relationships with my clients. Most of whom have become great mates (there’s way to many to mention) I definitely couldn’t have done this without any of them or without the support and trust of the OG management team Clinton Heane Luke Nicholls Adam Mcardle and without the support the new school of George Ruka. One things that stands out in my mind as we go through the rebrand with our new tag line #challengeaccepted. It has been that since day 1 for me and can’t wait to see how far we can take it. Also knowing how far I have personally grown, I can’t wait to see who I am and where I will be in another 3 years. #challengeaccepted #ggcindustries #growth #milestone #success

First post of the week… Getting back into the swing of things again after last weeks nightmarish sleep deprivation. Run down to Stoke on Trent to collect a steam roller which I was originally going for on Friday, but for one reason or another it rolled over to this week. (Rolled over?! 😂) Then onward to collect two road planers destined for a second life somewhere across the water. The road planers were 2007 models so they’ve done their fair share of graft already but their work is not yet done. Not sure on the steam rollers’ age, but she’s getting on a bit now. Anyway, they’ll no doubt make a difference somewhere and we’re glad to play our part in getting them from A to B. What a whirlwind these past few weeks have been! Thanksgiving looked a little different for me this year as I battled pneumonia, but thankfully I’m on the mend and ready to hit the ground running or maybe I should say walking in steel-toed boots! I’m grateful every day for a job that I truly love, one that allows me to build meaningful relationships and create business opportunities that drive growth and innovation. Business development is so much more than polished presentations and networking events. It’s about connecting strategic vision with hands-on execution the heartbeat that brings clients, partners, and teams together to achieve success. In the world of construction, flexibility is key. Business development means embracing both sides of the industry: the polished shoes for industry expos and the steel-toed boots for on-site visits.
