🤔 What is video telematics? The #telematics systems in modern vehicles collect information such as location, speed, engine parameters, etc. But the addition of a camera system to record videos provides a clearer picture of the journey. The basic form of #VideoTelematics today involves the use of smart dashboard cameras, embedded with #ArtificialIntelligence (AI). The #AIalgorithm in the camera system monitors the driver continuously. It can identify #DriverDistraction and undesirable behaviours such as road rage, use of mobile phone when driving, drowsiness, looking away from the road, etc. Along with this recorded video, the system collects various forms of telematics data from the vehicle’s onboard diagnostics (#OBD) port or other connected sensors. This data could include vehicle location, speed, braking, acceleration, engine diagnostics, fuel consumption, and more. The visuals and telematics data captured by the system are then integrated and analysed together for intelligent decision making. What are the applications of video telematics? How to choose the right telematics solution? Read our blog to get answers to these questions and more - https://lnkd.in/gy32bhfA

Ever wondered how your car knows the best way to save fuel? . . . It’s not magic - 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚 ! 💡 Car companies collect lots of data from sensors in cars, GPS, and other means. By studying this data, we can learn more about how people drive, how the engine works and what conditions affect fuel use. ⛽ Eg: 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐬 helps in designing engines that adjust how much fuel they use based on things like traffic or road conditions. Cars are also using 𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, which helps them learn from our driving and automatically make small changes to improve fuel efficiency. This means our car could start to understand how we drive and find ways to save fuel over time. For drivers like us, there are apps that use data to give us tips on how to save fuel—like driving smoothly, avoiding long idle times, or finding more fuel-efficient routes using live traffic data.🚦 What’s your best tip for saving fuel? Share your thoughts below!👇 #DataAnalytics #FuelEfficiency #SmartCars #CarData #SaveFuel #MachineLearning #DataAnalyst

The car of the future is likely electric, with a degree of autonomy and more connected services, and safer for both drivers and passengers.🚙 That was the consensus of a panel of automotive and connectivity experts, who discussed the concept of the “connected vehicle” at a #smartmobility conference during last month’s Mobile World Congress. It could also come with sensors, as well as #AI and #machinelearning technologies, to help monitor the health and well-being of drivers. #5G technology, according to Cameron Coursey, Vice President, AT&T Connection Solutions, could transform how cars are connected to networks, such as possible safety networks for #smartmobility users, and enhance the safety and well-being of road users. The panelists included Cameron Coursey from AT&T Connection Solutions, Serafino Abate from Volvo, Sarwant Singh from MarketsandMarkets and Suman A Sehra from Harman.
The future 5G-enabled car will be safer - and may be your health and safety buddy
