Chester Zoo's Butterfly Journey offers a dedicated space for showcasing a variety of vibrant butterfly species. Visitors start in an outdoor butterfly garden before exploring the indoor habitat, a purpose-built space and home to many species of butterflies mainly from South America and Southeast Asia. These species require a tropical environment, kept between 22°C and 25°C, whatever the weather outside in Cheshire. Originally heated by an LPG system, the habitat now runs entirely on seven Mitsubishi Electric Ecodan R32 PUZ air source heat pumps working in a cascade system. This is just an example of one of the projects Mitsubishi Electric has undertaken as part of our strategic partnership with Chester Zoo, developed to support its goal of achieving net zero carbon in its scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030, and scope 3 emissions by 2050. The collaboration serves as a model for sustainability, encouraging others to follow suit. Ålesund kommune, Molde kommune and Kristiansund kommune are lanching the RECLAIM project today. It's great to see our three largest cities working together to address the growing issue of marine litter.
