The Sweet Agricultural Products of Louisiana (Honey and Sugar cane)... This week, the #Southern University Laboratory School through the #3SistersEngagement program had an incredible opportunity to engage with 122 bright middle school students on Honey and Sugarcane, which are the two sweet and vital agricultural products of Louisiana. The guest Ag. Experts were from the #BeeBreeding and #GeneticsLab in Baton Rouge, LA, and the #SugarcaneLab in Houma, LA, who enriched the program with their wealth of knowledge on honey and sugarcane production. This impactful program is proudly sponsored by the USDA-ARS Midsouth Area Office and expertly managed by Dr. Shalamar Armstrong alongside an incredible planning team of USDA scientists and staff, Southern University Ag. Ph.D., undergraduate students, and an LSU undergraduate student.
