It's not too late to submit a film for consideration! Under the terms of the National Film Preservation Act of 1988, the Librarian of Congress can only select 25 titles annually that are deemed “culturally, historically or aesthetically” significant, are at least 10 years old, and extant (meaning they must exist). The deadline is August 15, 2024, and any nominations made after the deadline will be considered for the 2025 National Film Registry.
