A recent Forbes report lists AI adaptation as a trend to watch in 2024 for PR. We agree AI has its place in the industry, in terms of streamlining processes, but it’s not a cure-all or magic bullet. For example, AI cannot: • Replicate the human element essential to storytelling • Fact-check sources, or serve as an official source • Form an opinion of an individual or brand You still need people to create meaningful connections and share your unique story. https://bit.ly/495MK3D #PR #AI #techPR #PRtrends

The proflifieration of AI in all aspects of our lives continues. There's not a single industry that isn't using AI in some form or fashion as companies continue to invest and build AI platforms. Additionally, federal regulators and lawmaker continue to explore tangible weights to protect consumer privacy and determine what guardrails need to be enforced before AI becomes too powerful. This is no different for the PR industry. AI is going to push all of us including full-time pr/corp comms leaders, agencies and fractional workers to determine how we can leverage AI to better serve our clients and companies. Ultimately, we need to avoid the fear of AI eliminating positions and companies cutting ageny retainers. Let's all use this as an opportunity to push ourselves to discover new ways (beyond press releases, messaging, seo, web traffic increases, etc.) to use AI for the betterment of our industry, clients, companies and our professional development. How are you using AI? What does this mean for the future of our industry from your perspective? #ai #pr #publicrelations #prindustry #agencies #communications #corporatecommunications #technology #apps #thefutureofpr https://lnkd.in/gjkqkbFc

As I dive into the steep learning curve of AI’s potential and challenges in strategic communications, I recently came across this interesting article: https://lnkd.in/dQ6Dx8Vh AI gives us the power to analyze massive amounts of data, grasp audience preferences, and personalize our messaging like never before. It’s a game-changer in helping us streamline routine tasks, freeing up time for what truly matters—creative, strategic work. But there’s another side to consider: AI can just as easily introduce biases, blur the authenticity of content, and even lead us into ethical dilemmas, from deepfakes to disinformation. For those of us in PR and communications, this is a moment to embrace AI’s capabilities, but responsibly. It’s about finding that crucial balance between innovation and integrity. AI is revolutionizing our field, but it’s on us to ensure that transformation builds trust and credibility rather than eroding them. Articles like this are a great reminder that, even as the tools evolve, our core values should be our guiding compass.
