In this Nature Biomedical Engineering commentary by authors from 14 pharmaceutical companies, an optimistic view is placed regarding advanced in vitro models and their use in drug development - in light of FDA 2.0 modernization act! They recognize these methods can improve drug development and reduce the use animal models, and thus should be strategically implemented. Change is coming!
