"Sore today, strong tomorrow."
#DOMS -
1. Muscle soreness and aching begins 12-24 hours after the rigorous exercise/activity and peaks at 48-72 hours.
2. Tenderness on the muscle belly and at the myotendinous junction.
3. Increased soreness on the particular muscle activity.
4. Muscle stiffness till the soreness stops.
5. Joint range decreases.
6. Decreased muscle strength after 1-2 weeks if the activity is not consistent.
Solution -
1. Stay hydrated
2. Low intensity warm-up and cool-down activities
3. Increase the intensity of any new activity/exercise gradually
4. After the first episode of DOMS, muscles are ready. So don't stop the exercises, rather increase the intensity gradually after the pain subsides.

Did you know that engaging in strength training not only enhances your physical strength but also elevates the production of your brain's feel-good hormones, known as endorphins? 🏋️♂️
These powerful chemicals are renowned for reducing pain perception and fostering feelings of euphoria, similar to that exhilarating sensation after conquering a challenging workout. 💪
Moreover, incorporating strength training into your routine can be particularly beneficial for alleviating various tension-related issues such as back pain, neck discomfort, and headaches.
By targeting and strengthening specific muscle groups, you can significantly improve your posture and gain better control over areas where tension tends to accumulate, ultimately reducing physical stress symptoms. 🧘♀️

A mind that is mentally and emotionally balanced, releases the optimum amount of neurotransmitters and hormones required by the nervous system for their normal functioning.
Even cortisol in the right amount is beneficial for our body’s productivity and muscular strength.
But, when stress strikes, this balance gets disrupted and the cortisol hormone takes over for a prolonged period that affects REM sleep, normal bodily functions like digestion, immune action and more.
Considering that our gut-brain axis plays a major role here, when cortisol rises, the blood flows more towards skeletal muscles and bones as it prepares the body to combat stress, which consequently reduces blood flow to the digestive system and other vital organs, thereby not just affecting the body physiologically but also mentally.
As experts have indicated that a healthy gut reports a healthy mind, in times of stress when cortisol remains active, it disrupts your gut health and digestion to the breaking point of affecting you mentally and emotionally and even physically if not addressed.

3w100% my head before and after running. I love the clarity it brings me; I don’t usually listen to music when I run so my mind can also run free!
