IN-PERSON AND ONLINE EVENT: Thursday, May 9 – Please join us and our colleagues at The University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business Center for Positive Organizations at the Positive Business Conference Amplified. Every day, organizations around the world set out to do good work—solving complex problems, addressing seemingly intractable issues, generating relational, social, and financial wealth, and finding new ways to create a better world for their communities. And every day, whatever comes, organizations around the world do their important work in the face of disruption, distress, turmoil, and turbulence. Our conference theme, “Amplifying Human Enterprise: How might we find uplift amid upheaval?” will explore how we are living and working together in this time of both grief and gratitude, upheaval and uplift. Join us in person or online for the Positive Business Conference Amplified, May 9, 2024, for a deeper exploration of how leaders can harness the potential to create supportive structures and practices that foster well-being. We will share real-world examples, evidence-based tools, and cutting-edge thinking about creating compassion, connection, purpose, and meaning as part of an organization’s ecosystem of long-term value. As an institution of higher education, we are dedicated to taking down financial barriers for learning. Find out more about student tuition and scholarship options. Visit https://lnkd.in/gCbdwsN to learn more and register to attend. NOTE: Monica Worline, PhD, the Faculty Director, Center for Positive Organizations, Faculty, Organizations and Management, University of Michigan, is also a member of Center for Compassionate Leadership’s Advisory Board and serves as Lead Faculty for our program “How to Build Compassionate Organizations: Awakening Compassion at Work” as well as our Compassionate Leadership Teacher Training. #UMPositive #MGoPositive #CompassionateLeadership #CompassionateOrganizations #CompassionateLeaders

Interesting that Advance HE's Strategy 2030 now includes explicit reference to 'transformational change' and clearly links this to leadership, management and governance. Whilst I am no longer affiliated to any Higher Education Institution, I am a Fellow and have been in and around the sector for decades, so agree with this imperative for its members and member organisations. Change your people, change your culture, achieve your strategic ambitions. To be fair, the strategy also covers themes that would be important in any sector right now, not just higher education. This includes EDI, sustainability and technology drivers. As an advocate for 'Responsible Transformation', I would expect them to be in there. So let's hope this leads to transformational change, delivered responsibly ... and ultimately a better world for the organisation's stakeholders and beneficiaries. https://lnkd.in/eYgnt8-5

Dr. Cari Moorhead, CGS Dean in Residence for 2024, has compiled a helpful toolkit to help you improve your mentoring relationships. For university leadership, there is also a section on how to create a climate that supports strong, vibrant mentoring relationships.
