The Paris 2024 Olympics is fast approaching, attracting visitors eager to witness the world's top athletes compete for gold in France. Trip.com has observed strong demand from APAC travelers, especially from Mainland China, Japan, South Korea, Australia and Singapore, as well as visitors from the UK, Spain, Italy, Germany, and Netherlands. Notably, there has been a 105% surge in bookings from Chinese consumers. In addition to the surge in bookings, the average length of stay for travelers from Asia has increased by 20% compared to the same period last year, with visitors from Mainland China, South Korea, and Hong Kong staying the longest. This indicates that Asian tourists are extending their vacations to fully immerse themselves in experiences beyond the sporting events this summer. Complementing this trend, there has been over a 20% increase in bookings for alternative accommodations, such as vacation rentals and boutique lodgings, for those seeking unique experiences.
