We had the privilege of being interviewed by CGTN during the prestigious World Travel Market (WTM) London, which drew over 40,000 industry professionals. This event provided a unique opportunity and global stage for us to engage in discussions about both the recovery and the evolving challenges in travel and tourism, as well as to share our initiatives in leading the future of travel. Boon Sian Chai, Managing Director and VP of International Markets at Trip.com Group, shared his insights on visa-free policies, AI advancements, and the importance of travel sustainability- "For countries that have adopted reciprocal visa-free travel, like Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and some Middle Eastern countries such as Saudi Arabia and the UAE, they are seeing better growth compared to those without such policies," said Chai, expressing hope that China's visa-free policy would inspire similar actions from other nations. Another interesting topic is the increasing demand for tailored travel experiences. "Our trip planner tool provides an itinerary based on customer preferences," said Chai, referring to TripGenie, an AI-powered travel assistant designed by Trip.com to provide personalized travel recommendations and seamless trip planning.
