Honoring Leo Vinton Butts Leo Vinton Butts was the first African-American graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy and the first African-American to play for the UW varsity football team. A World War I veteran and activist, Butts later owned and operated a pharmacy and, in his UW Ph.D. thesis, was one of the first to document the history of African-Americans in pharmacy. Three weeks into this year’s #BCorpMonth, we’re reflecting on why being a B Corp is important every month of the year. At Cube Group, our #BCorp certification is a badge we wear with pride. During B Corp Month each year, we take time to reflect on our journey, celebrate our achievements, and look forward to the paths of improvement and innovation that lie ahead. But we don’t just celebrate our own certification; we amplify a movement of organisations using business as a force for good. #BCorpMonth2024 is an opportunity to reflect on the power of collective action and the impact of aligning business practices with the greater good. We’re excited to continue our journey - driven by curiosity, guided by our commitment to positive impact, and strengthened by the accountability and values of the B Corp certification.
