This Fall, we want to take the time to recognize those in your program who display exceptional leadership. Today, we're thrilled to shine the spotlight on Camden HS (NC), school nurse, Kim Hollingsworth, who is being celebrated by Head Athletic Trainer, Bernie Stasko. If you have a staff member or student-athlete you want to recognize, please tell us more about them here: https://hubs.ly/Q02ZBsJL0

The Young Professionals of Iowa is led by a board made up of Iowa young professionals who have a passion for making Iowa the best state to live and work for emerging leaders. We're looking to add new board members in 2025! 🔎 While our interest form is available for submissions year-round, those who would like to be considered as a new board member in 2025 should submit by Wednesday, Dec. 11. Submit your interest at https://lnkd.in/gR2fm3NC. YPs with a lot of different backgrounds could be successful on the YP Iowa board. Some who may find it particularly interesting are those who have been very involved in their local YPs and are past leadership for their YPOs; those who are exemplary in their industry associations as YP talent and want to broaden their reach; those who have a statewide, regional, or national perspective from their job or volunteer work and want to continue to connect Iowa YPs to greater resources; and so many others. A passion for what's needed to provide high-quality programming and support a statewide network are assets, too.

Each of these interim deputy administrators- none of whom were mandated by the charter revision- gets a 6 month severance payment, or $209,000 each, if they work 6-12 months in their temporary positions. No one in the public or private sector gets such lush benefits. My concern lies in the fiscal irresponsibility inherent in awarding lavish severance packages, amounting to a staggering $1.3 million, to temporary employees whose impact on city services is destined to be short-lived. Severance should be reserved for extraordinary situations, not handed out routinely. Six months severance after possibly 6 months of work is way out of bounds for both private and public sectors. Providing lush severance packages on the taxpayers' dime is a slap in the face to the hardworking people of Portland. It sends the wrong message: that public servants can expect cushy safety nets even when their tenure is temporary. That money could be better spent addressing urgent needs like public safety and transportation, which are currently struggling to identify adequate funding.
Today, the City of Portland announced their six deputy city administrators and a city administrator. This leadership team will help prepare for the City's full transition to a mayor-council form of government on Jan. 1, 2025. Based on the needs of the service areas, some leadership team members may be starting their new role prior to July 1. The leadership team will focus on developing the new service areas, advancing citywide priorities, and leading the organization into the updated form of government in partnership with council. These six deputies and the assistant city administrator will oversee service areas and report up to the city administrator. Learn more about the City's leadership team: https://lnkd.in/gu3y3CZP

As we transition into this next chapter, I’m looking forward to the innovative ideas and approaches that will shape the future of learning. Change isn’t just about adapting—it’s about discovering new possibilities, challenging assumptions, and growing in ways we never expected. It pushes us to rethink strategies, embrace different viewpoints, and refine our skills to better serve students and educators alike. Dr. Murray’s an inspiring leader who works side by side with everyone - I’m ready to work hard, collaborate, and support our students. Change fuels progress, and I’m excited to be part of it. #Leadership #Education #GrowthMindset #Opportunities

I talk a lot about the urgency we’re experiencing in #SeniorLiving. The call to develop trusted leaders and cultures to collaborate and serve at the highest level. And I love celebrating the #Wins in #SeniorLiving! 🙌🏻 Its so important to celebrate #Leadership and organizations that don’t just talk about the importance of developing and supporting their people on their website, but they’re actually investing time and money into the long game for meaningful lasting change, AND #Willing to collaborate and share, what’s working! There’s no way we turn this senior living industry ship around without this kind of leadership. Like the amazing, Melissa Labor, SPHR,SHRM-SCP said, “If you missed the panel on Cultivating a Thriving Culture in Senior Living Communities, I hope you listen in.” You’ll hear from a couple of my “old friends” and industry leaders, Nicole Will and Daniel Lawson and a couple new friends, Aaron Catoe, M.A. Org. Leadership from 12 Oaks Senior Living (and moderator Noel 🤗). With great respect, a ginormous thank you to everyone on this panel! This is the path towards collaborating effectively to serve at a higher level! 👏👏👏 Your voice matters we’d love to hear what you think! Heads up - video starts a minute or so in. #LovingDisruption ❤️🔥 #CelebrateTheGood #Highperformanceleadership #Nurses #Trust #Collaboration #Serve #LovingOrganization

Teachers….. Y.A.L.E. You Are Leaders Everyday You more are than just a cog in the wheel. How many professions out there direct the amount of people you do? If you’re an elementary teacher, you direct 20-30 people students daily. If you’re a secondary teacher, you’re directing 90-180 people (students) each day. Yes, for the amount of people you impact, you are definitely underpaid compared to your value to society. This post is to recognize and emphasize that you make a difference that most professions don’t. (Btw, no disrespect to other professions) Every teacher, every adult on campus, is a leader and should embody great leadership. And the majority do. Y.A.L.E.!

Very useful info for IHE leadership.
📣 Attention Presidents, Vice Presidents, HR, Provosts, Chancellors: A big takeaway from today's "Leveraging Liberty University’s Program Review for Leader Engagement" strategy session was that campus safety professionals want to engage with you more! They want and need your support to keep your school in compliance with the Clery Act. 🛑 "[Liberty University] campus leadership saw the Clery Act as an administrative obligation that threatened a positive perception about the institution's safety, as opposed to seeing it as a tool to establish or strengthen a community's safety." 📚 Check out American Council on Education's "A President's Guide to the Clery Act" to learn what you should understand about this essential law so you can support your campus safety practitioners and help your campus community thrive: https://lnkd.in/e-cyY_rf #highereducation #campussafety #higheredleadership #cleryact
