A huge thank you to Lucy Stanley who is our first fundraiser for a marathon event! Lucy's target of £500 will help provide much needed support for groups and clubs such as parasport equipment, facility hire and programme delivery in disadvantaged communities across Scotland!

I am running Edinburgh Marathon for Athletics Trust Scotland. I would be greatly appreciative if you could have a read at my just giving page. It is a wonderful cause.
Oxford Amateur Rowing Club, formerly the Oxford Academicals Rowing Club (Accies) is an inclusive community that helps make rowing accessible to as many people as possible!
Their latest fundraising campaign is for the foundation of a new boathouse (Site surveys, architectural designs, planning fees, and ground works).
How you can play your part:
There are five simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Whether it's £10 or £1,000 or more (!), we're grateful for any step that helps us get closer to our goal of securing a permanent club home.
2. Sponsor. Could you connect us with a company willing to be a sponsor for our club? We would carry their logo on our website.
3. Spread the word. The more people who know about us, the more chance we have of reaching our target, so please share our crowdfunding page on social media.
4. Offer. Could your business make a donation of rewards we can offer our funders? We will give you a shout out!
5. Fundraise for us. If you have an idea for fundraising on our behalf – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!

🎉 Help Us Keep the Ball Rolling at Stratford-upon-Avon Table Tennis Club! 🎉
Twelve weeks ago, we launched a crowdfunding campaign to replace some of our aging, second-hand tables. While our efforts didn’t bring in contributions during this time, we’re incredibly grateful to Ryse3D in Shipston-on-Stour for their generous £1,300 donation, which allowed us to purchase three brand-new tables. These tables are already being enjoyed by our current attendees at Meon Vale
However, our work is not done yet! 🏓
We still need funding to replace three more tables and purchase table surrounds to meet league and competition standards. These upgrades are essential to ensure we can continue providing a fantastic experience for our players and grow our club’s impact in Stratford-upon-Avon.
We’ve seen what’s possible—Wyre Piddle Table Tennis Club recently raised over £9,000 in just 60 days! With the support of passionate sports enthusiasts and community champions, we know we can achieve our goal too.
Why Support Us?
• Promoting Inclusivity: We provide opportunities for players of all ages and abilities, from beginners to league competitors.
• Strengthening the Community: By improving our facilities, we can host more events, competitions, and outreach programs for schools and community groups.
• Inspiring Future Players: High-quality equipment helps us deliver a better experience and attract more people to the sport.
How You Can Help:
👉 Make a donation – Every pound counts toward improving our club.
👉 Spread the word – Share this post to help us reach more supporters.
👉 Get involved – Join us for a session and see what your support will achieve.
Let’s work together to keep the spirit of table tennis thriving in Stratford-upon-Avon!
💬 Message us for details on how to donate or get involved. Thank you for helping us make a difference!

The Big Row is back: Row the distance from Paris to LA, 5 – 8 September.
I believe rowing is for everyone; and everyone can row. Moreover, everyone has the right to row. For some, the experience of rowing offers positive life transformation. Love Rowing is a charity that helps to create opportunities for individuals, particularly those from communities currently underrepresented in our sport, to experience rowing.
I was fortunate to start rowing at school several decades ago. It has partly shaped who I am today. I am passionate about rowing’s ability to support physical and mental wellbeing and creating a sense of belonging. I joined Love Rowing as a Trustee in 2021 to contribute to its mission and have met some wonderful rowing people in the process.
Love Rowing is British Rowing’s charitable foundation aiming to transform lives through the sport, bringing new diverse communities to rowing. We want more people to experience rowing, whether on land or water, with a focus on traditionally underserved groups, including:
- Young people from low socioeconomic backgrounds
- People with disabilities
- Ethnically diverse communities
The Big Row 2024
Row together from Paris to Los Angeles. Starting in the final week of the Paralympic Games in Paris, we’ll cover a total distance of 15,241 km, finishing in LA, the host of the next Olympics and Paralympics. This challenge is for everyone, whether you row on land or water, solo or in a team.
We aim to raise £60,000 to support inclusive and accessible rowing projects across the UK. This will help get more people involved in rowing, changing lives for the better.
How You Can Get Involved:
1. Register: Click the link below to sign up.
2. Pledge Your Distance: Choose how much you want to row.
3. Get Sponsors: Rally support from friends, family, and colleagues.
4. Row Anytime: Between 5th and 8th September, row whenever and wherever suits you – at home, work, school, rowing clubs, or leisure centres.
We’ll also have exciting Big Row venues where you can join us and other participants for a fun, collective rowing experience. More details to follow once you’ve registered!

Together, we can make rowing accessible to all and transform lives across the UK. Let’s make this year’s Big Row the biggest and best yet!

Lessons from 'Pommel Horse Guy' Stephen Nedoroscik:
Stephen Nedoroscik, known as the 'Pommel Horse Guy,' helped the USA men win their first gymnastics medal in 16 years at the Paris 2024 Olympics! His story has inspired many, and has valuable lessons for nonprofits:
1. Focus on Your Strengths
Stephen is going viral because he only competed in one event (the pommel horse), which is rare for gymnasts, but being a 'Specialist' paid off.
We can also focus on what we do best to make the biggest impact. Identify what sets your organisation apart and channel your resources and efforts into that area.
2. Overcome Challenges
Stephen didn’t let his eye condition stop him; he adapted.
We can turn challenges into opportunities by being creative and flexible. Embrace challenges and find solutions to overcome them.
3. Stay Dedicated
Stephen’s hard work and passion led him to success.
As leaders, we need to work just as hard to help others. Keep your mission in mind and stay committed to your cause.
4. Leverage Technology and Finance Wisely
Just as Stephen used his unique skills to shine, we can leverage technology and smart financial practices to enhance our operations. Streamline processes, use data to drive decisions, and ensure financial sustainability.
Stephen's story is a testament to the power of focus, resilience, and dedication—qualities that nonprofit leaders exemplify daily. Let's be inspired by his journey to push our missions forward :)

UTS50 (well it should be 58) Completed!
I managed to finish the race in just under 11 hours and can confirm it was by far the hardest one I have done to date – most of the second half was spent regretting signing up and currently I can only walk downstairs one step at a time 😃. That said, now the dust has settled I am back on track reviewing what went wrong/right and starting to plan future races (maybe the 100k race next year?).
Many thanks for those who have sponsored me we have raised over £1,700 towards a really important cause. https://lnkd.in/dC6FF9y9
Few takeaways:
1) Plan you're own water strategy rather than opting for the minimum allowed - 1l of fluid for 3.5 hours and 1000m climbing was never enough
2) Be flexible with eating - I had divided supplies into phases and didn't flex this when a phase took twice as long as I planned
3) If it's hot (and it was) utilise the streams as often as possible to wet your body
4) Just keep moving at all time
5) If there is a bull on your path jump the fence into the bulls field
6) Don't complain too much if you are already planning to do the 100k version next year 🤣
Leave a Legacy ❤️
If, like us, volleyball has been an incredibly positive and valuable part of your life and you’d like to help others who might not have that chance to experience the profound impact that sport can have, then a gift in your Will can continue the Foundation’s efforts and leave a legacy of support to all those that come after you.
By deciding to remember us in your Will, you'll help our team be there to support and guide all ages, all abilities, all across England.
Why should I leave a gift to the Foundation?
If you believe in supporting future generations in volleyball then leaving a gift in your Will to us is a great way to help us do just that. Gifts we receive make a real difference to developing the sport from grassroots right through to performance level. Your gift will always matter.
Can I decide how I would like my gift to be used?
Gifts that are 'unrestricted' (i.e. that we can use wherever they'll make the biggest difference) are the most valuable to us as they can be used where they're most urgently needed.
You can also leave a gift in your Will to a particular area or campaign, please just get in touch.
What type of gift can I leave?
We're hugely grateful for every gift and there are three main types of gift you can leave:
A residuary legacy is a percentage of whatever is left over from an estate after debts, funeral expenses, administration costs, and all other gifts have been paid. This can be any percentage you like. Many people choose this type of gift as it ensures their loved ones are taken care of first.
A pecuniary legacy is a fixed sum of money that can be any amount, big or small.
A specific legacy is a gift of a particular item, such as property or an item of jewellery.

Thank-you ❤️
