THE SECRET TO BUILDING A SUCCESSFUL COMPANY 🤑👇 I'm certainly no expert in this field (yet!), but my biggest learning since starting The Social Lemon is just how important cultural fit is when hiring. As a company with 10 full-time employees right now, these first hires, in my opinion, are the most important for the business right now, especially as we scale. It's not just about skills or qualifications, but about finding individuals who align with our values, mission, and vibe. This harmony within the team doesn't just create a positive work environment; it drives productivity, innovation, and ultimately, the success of our company. We're not just creating a successful company – we're cultivating a community where everyone can flourish, contribute their best, and live their best life. #CompanyCulture #Hiring #Success #TeamBuilding

One of the best decisions I ever made was hiring my assistant Shannon. Instantly, time that I spent on emails, scheduling, and processes like onboarding disappeared. Soon, I was also doing new things that I wouldn’t have otherwise. This past week, I threw a party for 40 alumni of a student club I was a part of in college (the Franklin Fellowship) and my EA managed almost all of the logistics. 20 minutes of my time became 20 hours of my assistant organizing an event. I LOVE when founders use an assistant. It's a superpower. But, I’ve found there’s an activation energy - many founders would benefit. But, they struggle to get started. Here’s an offer I made to my community of founders at Hampton and I want to try out with a few friends. Here’s the offer: A FREE executive assistant + delegation training for two months. My company Leverage Assistants trains the assistant, staff them with you, and work with you. Here's the catch: you need to be a founder. If you’re a founder who has a million+ in funding or revenue, then you’re eligible. Just write your name in the comments or send me a DM. Or share this with a friend. I’ll pick three founders to work with for this experiment.

If you're a hiring manager that's interested in creating #equitable #access to opportunity, it's critical that you think of all the ways that someone might develop skills relevant to the role you're hiring for. Sure, you might get the ability to manage difficult stakeholders while balancing time and budget constraints from running a P&L, but you also get that experience being a single caregiver. You might be familiar with cross-cultural communication because you did a study abroad semester while you were at Stanford, or you might have grown up in an immigrant-led, multilingual home. You might have a master's degree in strategic communication, or perhaps you've always been on deck for marketing for the community groups you're in. No, these experiences aren't perfect substitutes. But if we want to build a better world, we absolutely must start valuing the skills that are developed through the pathways that folks who have less access often walk. As leaders, we can own creating #equity in our hiring processes.

This is 2025, and for some reason, this feels like the best time to re-introduce myself, and wish you all a Happy New Year. HI! I’m Sophia, and I’m currently navigating my career journey, figuring out who I am, what drives me, and where I want to make an impact. While I may not have all the answers yet, I’m deeply committed to learning and growing every day. So please watch this space (I feel like I have said this a million and one times) I work as a front desk/ Admin assistant, where I’ve been honing my skills in People Management, Documentation, Recruitment, and staff onboarding, (and truth be told I am still trying to get a hand on these daily activities). It’s been a journey of learning and adapting, and I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to grow professionally. While it might seem, I am lost at having a purpose and a cause (I sound like Hitler here) I am very passionate about solving problems, collaborating with others, and making a positive impact. Right now, I’m exploring opportunities in Product Management, Remote Working, and entrepreneurship to discover what truly excites me. (I have a knack for flexibility and exploration) I’m here on LinkedIn to connect with inspiring professionals, learn from their journeys, and gain insights as I navigate my path. If you have any advice, resources, or experiences to share, I’d love to hear from you!. #girllearnafrica #introduction #myjourney #productmanager

This is the absolute best questionnaire for hiring I have ever come across. Look at some of these questions: *We have a stake in your success, so what do you need in a manager/supervisor? *Why are you uniquely qualified to work on the USA EdTech project? Don't be afraid to really make this about you and your super powers. *This job will have you go from zero to woah really fast. With that in mind, what makes you exceptionally good at managing a lot of projects and tasks? Be specific. *We've all biffed it in our work life. Our CEO goofs up on a pretty regular basis. Sometimes we tell him. Sometimes he knows before we do. So, describe a situation in your work life where you struggled. What happened? What did you learn? I love how companies are changing the narrative of hiring practices! This is brilliant and I continue to hope that others follow suit. While I am not qualified for this role, I hope someone in my network is. https://lnkd.in/g7-qHwUB #transitioningteacher
