"It's part of my daily routine," shares Joan, who attends the morning exercise classes at Atria Seville. "I also participate in our afternoon Zumba class, our mobility & movement class, and the classes led by EmpowerMe Wellness. I like that EmpowerMe leads a half-hour exercise class, from tai chi to yoga, followed by a health lecture." "When I moved to Atria I was using a cane, and with these exercise routines, I no longer need it. Exercising every day makes me feel good!" Joan says. Joan, a piano player who taught and performed for years, loves that the classes pair exercise with music. She says that another thing that makes working out fun is having friends in class with you. "It's more fun to exercise with neighbors and it's always good to get others motivated too." We hope Shirley is your motivation to get moving today! 🧘💪🏃

There’s no denying that the world we live in today is very different to the one we were born into – and it’s always been the same since time began (just think about those tales your parents or grandparents shared, painting a picture of simpler times when the pace of life seemed gentler!). We’re seeing a growing interest in children’s wellbeing franchises, where classes like yoga, massage, and mindfulness provide even the youngest children with the tools they need to not only deal with today’s challenges, but to positively thrive. Why do we yawn, especially during yoga classes? During my teacher’s training, I learned that yawning is a positive sign—it shows the body is relaxing. With experience, I tend to agree. A fun story I share with my students when yawning spreads through the class is this: It's been proven that people who don’t 'catch' yawns from others tend to lack empathy. Interestingly, some studies have found that serial killers often don’t yawn when others do. ... Just saying! Does reading this make you yawn? That's a good sign. It doesn’t necessarily mean you're tired—though you might be. It means your vagus nerve is activated. What’s the vagus nerve, and why is it important to activate it? Let me know if you're interested in a post on that topic. --- #YogaPractice #ProfessionalWellness #MindBodyHealth #YogaInTheWorkplace #VagusNerve #EmpathyInLeadership #CorporateWellness #StressManagement #HealthAndWellbeing #EmployeeWellness #HolisticHealth #MindfulnessAtWork #LeadershipDevelopment #WellbeingAtWork #PersonalGrowth

Now what? You have made it. On a sandy beach, no work emails to answer, no meeting to think about, nothing to task out. The stillness hits, the silence of the mind kicks in. Can you be in the relaxation comfortably? Was the wait to relax worth it for you? In a Yin Yoga training this week, the instructor stated “relaxation is a skill, you get better at it the more you practice.” As I contemplated this statement I could feel the difference of lazy and the ability to relax. One is simply giving up, nothing to live for and one is choosing to be alive, in the present moment. Feeling all of the sensations of the moment without having to do anything with them. So, are you practicing relaxing? Or are you waiting to find the stillness when you “have done enough”? Bringing stillness into the day life, is a practice. It takes effort to quiet the mind. #awareness #stillness #nowwhat

It's SUCH a busy week, especially for my pastor friends. Here's a little something that may help you get through when you're overwhelmed 😓: 1️⃣ Think about the project you need to get done. 2️⃣ Brainstorm everything you need to do to get it done. 3️⃣ Take a look at all those things. Breathe. 4️⃣ Pare the list down to only what is ESSENTIAL. 5️⃣ Then write down the stuff that would be good to do, but not absolutely necessary. Do the essential things. 👉 THEN when that's all done, register for "How to Renew" -- my online spring/post-Easter restorative yoga celebration. The practice will settle your energy, allowing you to deeply rest. 😴 I have online tickets and limited in-person tickets if you're in the Columbus, Ohio area. #EasterSeason #RestorativeYoga #Relaxation #RestAndRestore #SelfCare

The secret to becoming supple? I've been teaching mobility & yoga for 7 years. The best mobility advice I can give you if you want to become pain-free? Move every single day. Even when you ´don't have time´. But no need to do a full mobility session every day. Move for habit. For therapy. For longevity! You think flexible people are born like that? Nope. They test a lot. They play. They fail a lot. Which is why they win. Practice your mobility → Fail daily → Win forever Happy moving! Here is a Free mobility plan for you: katcutfit.com P.S. This neck translation was challenging for most of my clients, can you do it?

Many people enjoy group workouts or yoga classes I don’t… When I train for ✔︎ strength ✔︎ mobility ✔︎ agility That’s my ME time—the time I take intentionally for myself. I focus within. It’s my form of meditation. Covid has shown that when you rely on ▪︎ courses ▪︎ classes ▪︎ gyms you’re f**ked if something happens. This also applies when you travel. I chose to be self-sufficient. Independent. Free. The only things I need: → my body → yoga mat → gym rings → elastic bands They go where I go. ❓ How do you stay on track 365 days — year after year? Move your body. Be free. Thrive in life. — Markus ——— Hey, I’m Markus Kneissl, a wellness and lifestyle guide to health-conscious purpose-driven entrepreneurs. For the past 7 years, I've been helping them get strong, energized, and pain-free, so they can maximize their return on life (and business). ——— P.S. If you'd like to delve deeper into building a strong, confident body or have any questions about how it applies to your specific situation, feel free to send me a message. I'm here to assist you in any way I can.

If you're having symptoms, it's time to check in with your doshas. If your doshas are out of balance, it's time to check in with your food cravings and behaviors that you know push your system out of balance. Sometimes we'll think we need a really BIG practice to "course correct", however, behavior changes that come from clear motivation and a connection to your body, mind and heart, have higher success rates that big course corrections made from an out of balance mind. Check out this practice on our YouTube channel and let us know if it helps you! https://lnkd.in/e7nM4Fxy Learn more about the Institute for Living Yoga: https://lnkd.in/eqbVw6EE
