📌 Themed week on #Vision for the #WorldSightDay 🌎👓 Day 2 People with vision impairments in #Vietnam can now use "Vi Vu" TTS Voice, a text-to-speech software in the Southern dialect! This initiative is part of ATscale’s broader effort to develop text-to-speech (TTS) voices for under-represented languages and dialects to foster global digital inclusivity. #ATscale identified the need for these voices to address the commercial limitations faced by private IT companies, which have left many under-represented languages and dialects without adequate TTS support. The development of "Vi Vu" was a collaborative effort involving UNICEF, UNICEF Viet Nam, the ATscale partnership, Sao Mai Centre for the Blind, and LouderPages (producers of RH Voice). #AssistiveTechnology improves digital literacy, #accessibility to essential information, opening up educational and professional opportunities. 🔍Discover more on this initiative and read the article here 👉 https://uni.cf/3yv0KaI Together, let’s make #AssistiveTechnology available and #accessible for all those who need it! #UnlockTheEveryday #Inclusivity #ATChangesLives #LoveYourEyes #WorldSightDay2024

Tell Touch and ARRCS Make History with Indigenous Language Feedback System in Aged Care In an unprecedented move, Tell Touch and Australian Regional and Remote Community Services (ARRCS) have joined forces to reshape the aged care landscape in Australia. This revolutionary partnership will, for the first time in history, empower First Nations people living in aged care to provide direct feedback about the care and services they receive – in their own language. This landmark initiative addresses one of the long-standing barriers for Indigenous Australians in aged care: the language divide. By allowing feedback in indigenous languages, Tell Touch and ARRCS are making it possible for these voices to be heard in a culturally safe, respectful, and meaningful way. The platform provides a timely, transparent system that ensures the voices of First Nations elders are not just heard but truly listened to, offering a critical new avenue for accountability and improved care services. This is a monumental shift for aged care in Australia. For too long, First Nations people have faced barriers when it comes to giving feedback. This collaboration with ARRCS changes that. We are ensuring that all elders, regardless of language, can raise concerns and share experiences without fear, while knowing they will be acted upon with care and respect. The significance of this initiative cannot be overstated. With the Australian government seeking to reform the aged care sector and ensure it meets the needs of all Australians, this development sets a powerful example of how aged care services can be tailored to meet the needs of our culturally diverse populations.

The internet feels like a limitless source of information and has connected more people than ever before. However, its accessibility remains a challenge. The world speaks 7,000 languages, yet the top 6 million internet searches yield English language websites. 4 billion speakers of non-colonial languages are dangerously underrepresented, with 56% of the internet in English. Furthermore, most open educational resources are in English. Due to this, entire communities are left unable to access essential information or voice concerns about issues affecting them. At CLEAR Global, we're committed to breaking down these barriers. Through innovative language technology, we strive to empower marginalized language speakers, making the internet a tool for all to access vital information and contribute to meaningful conversations. As we celebrate International Mother Language Day, we recognize the importance of mother tongue education in supporting learning, literacy, and the acquisition of additional languages. Join us in our mission to promote linguistic equality and create a more inclusive digital landscape. Let's ensure that no language is left behind. #LanguageEquality #InclusiveInternet #IMLD2024

On the International Day of Sign Languages, we turn our attention to the over 70 million people worldwide who use sign language as their native language. 🤟 Access to information and communication must be ensured for all – including in the digital space. Accessible services are not just "nice to have," but a matter of fairness – and will become a mandatory right for all people with the soon-to-be effective European Accessibility Act (#EAA). But how can we design our digital platforms so that they are fully usable by deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals? 👉 Discover our solutions for the Accessible eXperience (AX) and let us take the first steps together: https://lnkd.in/eseH4SWX #InternationalDayOfSignLanguages #Inclusion #DigitalAccessibility #valantic
