🇮🇹 Last week, we celebrated the Plug and Play Italy Summit 2024, bringing together over 400 participants, including startups, corporate partners, venture capitalists, and investors from the Aerospace, Fintech, Food & Beverage, Mobility, and Sustainability sectors. The event's theme was #EmbracingChange: #TheCourageToInnovate, where we tackled some of the most pressing global challenges, from security to climate change to evolving consumer needs. We discussed how we must face these changes, leveraging technologies like Quantum Computing and Artificial Intelligence. Innovation is key to navigating this transformation. Investment through Venture Clienting, Corporate Venture Capital, and Corporate Venture Building are the driving forces behind this transition to a better world. 🤖🍼#AI, they are growing up too fast 🫣 🚨The accelerating pace of AI development demands our immediate attention, especially as builders also entrusted with safeguarding our soon to be “critical infrastructure”. 🔮Human level AI could be achieved by 2029, and ASI by 2045 (Kurzweil) https://lnkd.in/gFbp8nJJ 💡Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI), no longer a hypothetical, could pretty well be humanity’s last invention… when it surpasses human level intelligence (however you interpret this) in several ways. 🎓For better or worse, #ASI will likely be better than us at following instructions, completing specific tasks, thinking creatively, solving problems independently, then learn and adapt on its own. 👀 👨🏾💻Drawing from typical IT incident management, issues require an immediate resolution/ short term patch fix, but also a root cause analysis and remediation for a long term solution is paramount to limit a ground hog day meets glitch in the matrix. 🛠️ 🤔 on long term solutions… What will happen if we removed our dependency on oil & gas / fossil fuels constantly being fought over like seagulls over chips? 🍟🦤 🔋How will humanity reorganise itself towards a Type 1 civilisation (Kardashev Scale) to harness all of Earth's energy output 👉 becoming even more critical as we integrate advanced AI into everyday life🔌 ⛓️From a collaboration POV, imagine a world where Tesla and Edison had a #DAO (Decentralised Autonomous Organisation)🤲 with shared resources, transparent decision making, aligned values and community involvement that could have likely achieved faster developments in AC power (~60 years from concept to adoption). We could’ve achieved wireless and sustainable energy a lot sooner and⚡️The world could’ve been a different place! 🙄🪴 ⚖️This highlights the need for innovative business models and governance structures. Prioritising collaboration, purpose, people, profit - in that order. Possibly leading to a future with less conflict, less extractive practices, and more equitable benefits distribution. 📋The question isn't if ASI is possible, but how we prepare and ensure innovation aligns with “contemporary” human values. Focus on responsible development, breakthroughs in quantum computing, advanced neural networks (or its alternatives), reach truly autonomous systems while safeguarding it all. 🫶 Initiatives like IMAGINE and the ASI Alliance formation, focusing on ethical AI development and collaboration, are positive steps towards achieving true AI that addresses global challenges via a new era in #AI and #blockchain landscapes aligning with the principles of responsible innovation.
