The Climate Action Coalition is delighted to be hosting this event in the UN Climate Change Pavilion on 16th November exploring the desire for organisations providing game changing technologies to partner with governments and the UN, highlighting positive examples of collaboration and how these can be replicated across sectors and borders. Building on a recent roundtable run by Climate Action for the UNFCCC Executive Secretary during New York Climate Week, the event will include two sessions: Session 1: Technology and AI as game changers: Leveraging technological innovation and AI will be gamechangers in addressing the climate crisis – from disaster prevention to the optimisation of grids and supply chains. This first panel will look at the integration of AI to deliver the NDCs, with real-world examples of how AI can rapidly expedite the processes of decarbonisation and the energy transition. Session 2: The power of partnerships: For Parties to deliver their revised NDCs they will need to commit to working with the most innovative companies and technologies. This session will look at the interdependence between companies, innovators, investors and governments to deliver transformative innovations to deliver our 2030 goals, exploring examples of successful PPPs that can be replicated at scale. World leaders are gathered in Baku, Azerbaijani this week for the UN Climate Action Summit at COP29. The annual conference focuses on action to address adaptation challenges posed by climate change. Rodrigo Fernandes, our Director of Empowering Sustainable Development Goals (ES(D)G), and other Bentley colleagues are onsite, presenting during several sessions and engaging with other organizations. They aim to translate this crucial dialogue into action by fostering innovative and inclusive solutions using digital technology such as digital twins, AI, and geospatial analytics for enhancing infrastructure resilience against climate impacts. 🔹 COP29 Declaration on Green Digital Action For the first time in COP history, a dedicated Digitalisation Day was held, emphasizing the transformative potential of digital technologies and AI in combating climate change. Declaration on Green Digital Action, endorsed by governments and organisations, aims to accelerate climate-positive digitalization. Initiative led by the ITU.

At COP29's Digitalisation Day, the Green Digital Declaration was launched, with support from over 90 governments and 1,000 tech community members. This initiative aims to use digital tools for climate action, address digitalisation's environmental impact, and promote digital inclusion. We're driving energy efficiency and ensuring equitable climate resilience. Co-President of the Club of Rome Sandrine Dixson-Declève will be speaking at The Climate Hub during the June UN Climate Meetings in Bonn on 11 June 2024. The event aims to unite policymakers, NGOs, and business leaders to drive the climate agenda forward ahead of COP29 in Baku. Sandrine will be speaking in two key sessions. The first, "Turning Knowledge into Action: How AI can help businesses profit within the planetary boundaries," will take place at 12:30 CEST. This session will explore how collaboration and AI can drive climate action and create opportunities as we transition to net zero. Joining her will be Jennie-Marie Larsen, CEO & Founder of The Foundation for Planetary Intelligence. The second session, "From Bonn to Baku and Brazil," scheduled for 12:00 CEST, will feature live discussions from the June UN Climate Meetings SB60. This public broadcasting hub will bring together leaders in exponential solutions, finance, and hard-to-abate sectors to shape the next round of national climate action plans (NDCs), aligning with the Paris Agreement goals and building climate resilience.
