Declaration on Green Digital Action, endorsed by governments and organisations, aims to accelerate climate-positive digitalization. Initiative led by the ITU.

🌍✨ For the first time in COP history, digitalization is taking center stage in climate talks with the new Digitalization Day hosted by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), COP29 Azerbaijan's Secretariat, and the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of The Republic of Azerbaijan. NetHope is a long-standing ITU and United Nations System partner and we're looking forward to participating at the ‘High-Level Roundtable on Green Digital Action Path 4 Green World,’ happening on November 16th at the first-ever Digitalization Day. Attending my first COP was a valuable experience. The event provided an opportunity to explore new ideas, hear diverse perspectives, and discuss solutions to global climate challenges. I participated in several sessions throughout the event, focusing on decarbonization and climate change mitigation. These discussions highlighted the urgent need for collaborative and actionable approaches. One key moment was joining the panel session Challenges and Opportunities for Climate Reporting, organized by the UN Global Compact Networks Spain, Portugal, and the Netherlands. During the session, I highlighted how agile data solutions and open ecosystems can support the infrastructure sector in leveraging data effectively to deliver sustainable outcome. I also shared examples of how digital twins can facilitate circular practices and improve stakeholder engagement.
