I have a deep appreciation for working with lifelong learners. The mantra "Be all that you can be" is particularly empowering. However, what about the employees in your company? I was profoundly moved by a quote from Muhammad Ali: “The man who views the world at 50 the same as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life.” Despite its gender-specific language, this quote underscores the importance of continuous learning and growth. For those who own or run companies, it is possible to create a working environment that fosters dynamic growth for both the company and its employees. As the title of this article indicates, there are five ways to build a best-in-class culture for learning and development. #ceos #coos #learningdevelopment #leadership #leadershipdevelopment

When your boss brings donuts for the team meeting, and suddenly everyone’s ‘invested in company culture’—we all know that’s code for ‘I hope there’s sprinkles!’ Remember, leaders: your behavior sets the tone. If you show up with enthusiasm, your team will mirror that. But if you come in like a sloth on a Monday, don’t be surprised when your team takes a nap instead of brainstorming. So, lead by example—sprinkle in some fun, and watch your culture transform! Just make sure there's a donut or two to keep the motivation real! 🍩😄 #leadershipdevelopment #leadershipmindset #leadershipadvice #leadershipexcellence #leadership #leadershipcoaching #executivesuite

This week's focus is on culture and the pivotal role of leaders in fostering a culture of respect, learning, and trust. One of the key challenges for leaders is transitioning from being hands-on to embracing the role of Chief Culture Officer. It involves shifting attention from technical aspects of work to creating an environment that unleashes the potential of their team. Reflecting on my own experience transitioning from a lead special operations pilot to a commander, I realized that my role was no longer about completing tasks but about empowering and recognizing the potential of those under my leadership. In any organization, the CEO plays a crucial role in shaping the culture. If the CEO isn't actively improving the organizational culture, who will? I will post three insightful articles this week to support you in cultivating a successful culture within your team. Share below your wins or hurdles in building a thriving culture. #leadershipdevelopment #leadershipmindset #leadershipadvice #leadershipexcellence #leadership #leadershipcoaching #executivesuite

"Why do you feel so passionate about learning and development Kasey?" This is a question I've been asked numerous times and as I enter the final half of my Leadership and Management NVQ qualification I've realised the main reason I constantly crave learning new skills, approaches and ideas is simply because I believe leadership and learning go hand in hand. I believe, no matter how long you've been in an industry or a role, there's always more to learn and more importantly, put into practise. For leaders and future leaders out there, here are my top 5 reasons why I think everyone should be prioritising their own learning and development: 🔀 Adaptability: In today's fast-paced world, change is the only constant. Leaders who continuously seek to learn and grow are in a stronger position to adapt to evolving circumstances, whether it's technological advancements, market shifts, or unforeseen challenges. 🌟 Innovation: Learning opens doors to new ideas, perspectives, and approaches. By fostering a culture of continuous learning within our teams, we encourage creativity and innovation, driving forward-thinking solutions and staying ahead of the curve in our industries. 💪 Empowerment: As leaders, it's our responsibility to empower and develop our team members. By demonstrating a commitment to learning ourselves, we set a powerful example and inspire others to invest in their own growth and development. 👭 Networking: Putting yourself into a situation where hopefully you’ll get to learn a new skill often leads to meeting new people with different perspectives and approaches; learning through learning! 👩🏫 The learner becomes the teacher: Through constantly seeking learning opportunities you’ll eventually find yourself in a room where you're the expert (although as I previously said, with still lots to learn) and you'll get to share your knowledge with others. Delivering your knowledge to a different group of people is in itself learning; there's opportunities to learn around every corner. Over the last couple of weeks, as part of my NVQ I've been learning more about change management and the different approaches and processes that could be involved. What new things have you learnt this month? #LeadershipDevelopment #collaborateforsuccesss #ContinuousLearning #InnovationMindset
