🎄 Merry Christmas to the AVAALER Community! 🎄 As 2024 winds down, I’m pausing to reflect on the incredible effort, growth, and grit I’ve seen this year. If you’re reading this, chances are you’ve juggled a lot of career goals, health, family, and the pursuit of something more. Maybe you: -Took bold steps in your career, -Committed to better health (even when the snooze button was tempting 😅), or -Created meaningful moments with those who matter most. If so, I see you. That’s AVAALIN’ showing up as the best version of yourself to create positive outcomes at all levels. Christmas is a reminder to step back, breathe, and celebrate the journey. Not just the wins but the effort it took to get here. ✨ The late nights you pushed through. ✨ The risks you took to grow. ✨ The moments you chose connection over distraction. So, before the year wraps, let me challenge you: Take 5 minutes to reflect on your progress this year. Not where you think you “should” be, but where you are. Celebrate it. 2025 is calling, and I know it’s going to be even bigger, brighter, and bolder. Why? Because you’ve already proven what’s possible. Merry Christmas, and thank you for being a catalyst for growth personally, professionally, and in the lives of those around you. Let’s keep AVAALIN’ into 2025. 🚀 With gratitude and a festive toast 🥂, Mike #AVAALER #financeprofessionals #bankingindustry #Christmas #holidays

Something For The #Weekend! WHAT IF TOMORROW NEVER COMES? Isn't it ironic that we often prioritise the future over the present? Convention shows that most of our plans are for the future. Most of the things we occupy ourselves with today are purposed for tomorrow: Studying hard today for a better job tomorrow; working hard today to save up for tomorrow; making plans today for a better tomorrow; and, even, paying for a funeral plan today for when we die in one of the many tomorrows to come. But what if the tomorrow of our aspiration never comes? What if today was all that's left for us? As the saying goes, You don't know what you've got till it's gone. Today is what we've got. Don't wait till it's gone before you realise its value. Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting we live our lives irresponsibly as loafers, focused only on the now and with no plans for the future. My point is we need to be wise in striking a healthy balance between our endeavours for the future and truly living in the present, today. After all, isn't today the tomorrow we planned for yesterday? Make your today count! #weekendvibes #today #now #present #carpediem Follow For More. * Picture: Waiting for the future while ignoring the present.

The festive season is here, and with it comes one of my favorite traditions: getting together with old friends from school. Every year, as the air turns crisp and winter sets in, we find ourselves drawn back together. It’s that special time of year when holiday cheer fills the air, and so do the reflections on how much we’ve grown—and how quickly time is passing. Seeing friends from school in our mid-20s brings a bittersweet mix of emotions. There’s something grounding about reconnecting with the people who knew us back then, who shared in our awkward phases and our first dreams of what life might be like. The laughter, the inside jokes, and the ease of being around people who truly know you bring a warm nostalgia that feels irreplaceable. But alongside the joy, there’s also a pang of longing. Conversations turn to what we’ve done, where we’ve been, and the ways our lives have changed. It’s beautiful, yet it can stir up anxiety about the years flying by and the paths we’re all carving out—some close to what we imagined, and others vastly different. These gatherings bring gratitude for the friendships that have held on, despite the changes. They remind us of who we once were and the bonds that have stayed strong through each chapter of our lives. And as we say goodbye until next year, there’s a quiet acknowledgment of the unknown roads still ahead and the hope that, despite everything, these traditions will always bring us back together. #festivecheer #traditions #growingup #mid20s

🎉 The Year of Joy celebrates its 18-month anniversary this week! And what an incredible journey it has been. I am particularly proud of the fact that we have been able to empower those people, who were really struggling with their feeling of joy when they came into the Year of Joy community, to harvest significantly more joy in their lives, boosting their Joy Score on average by an impressive 20%. Awe. The first two Joy Superpowers we featured at the start of the Year of Joy were OPTIMISM and GRATITUDE, so it is only fitting that I start our 18-month celebrations with a post focused on these two superpowers. Firstly, I would like to thank Victor Perton, Nóirín Mosley and Chris Schembra 🍝 who shared their wisdom with our community members on these two Joy Superpowers and got the Year of Joy off to a flying start. Secondly, I'd like to take a moment to reflect and ask myself what am I optimistic about today? During the last 18 months we have been able to inspire and empower thousands of people to find more joy in their lives, and I am optimistic that we will be able to empower many, many more to do so over the next 18 months. And I also ask myself, what am I grateful for today? The success of the Year of Joy initiative has only been possible through support and collaboration with many. In fact, over 100 companies and individuals have partnered with us on the initiative. I would like to thank all of these wonderful partners and will be doing so over the coming days, so watch this space. Today’s ask Asking for help from my network is going to be an important part of my 60by60 initiative over the next 12 months, so I’m going to wrap up this post with this simple ask: 💬 Please share in the comments section “what are you are optimistic about and grateful for this week?” #yearofjoy #joysuperpowers

Reflecting on Priorities as the Year Ends !! As we approach the countdown to the New Year, many of us are caught up in the excitement of party plans and celebrations. But let's take a step back and reflect on what's truly important. In many countries, including India, January 1st is a public holiday, allowing us to relax, recharge, and spend quality time with loved ones. However, for some industries and professionals, this might not be the case. As we bid farewell to the old year and welcome the new one, let's remember that the true essence of celebration lies not in grand parties or external festivities, but in the connections we make, the memories we create, and the personal growth we achieve. So, whether you're celebrating with a bang or enjoying a quiet night in, take a moment to reflect on your priorities, goals, and values. What will you carry forward into the new year, and what will you leave behind? Wishing you all a thoughtful, peaceful, and joyful transition into the new year! #NewYearReflections #Priorities #PersonalGrowth #Celebrations

And there we have it 🏁 As I wrap up for Christmas, this is a natural moment to reflect on the year. And what a year it has been. I officially launched AXL Consulting eleven months ago, on the last day of January. I remember making the announcement and feeling excited but also low key petrified. The pressing question playing through my mind at the time was, “How on earth am I going to convince someone to hire me as a consultant?” Somehow, I landed my first major client within a few weeks. And The HEINEKEN Company at that 🤯 And yet, even months into that engagement, I was still largely terrified. Terrified that I was a one-hit wonder who had just happened to have been in the right place at the right time. It took months – I would say a full nine months – for that fear to steadily and gradually subside to a level where, whilst it’s always there, instead it has been largely replaced by assuredness. The reason why is that ever since launching the consulting practice, I devised for myself a set of criteria to judge whether I was setting up a business that was viable. A business that had longevity. A business that had the right foundations to continue on well into the future. And fundamentally, that is why that fear has receded: because I have realised that slowly but surely since January, one by one, I have fulfilled that criteria. The experience of setting up a consulting practice has stretched me in different ways. But most of all, I have enjoyed both the intellectual challenge and lived experience and I still continue to do so. One thing in particular I have loved is the many new relationships I have formed as a result of going down this path. And funnily enough, I now can’t imagine doing anything else. The photo is of Freddie – a Fractional Resident at my house and regular gatecrasher on Zoom calls. I’m working on recruiting him into a role at AXL Consulting as Fractional Head of Engagement, Happiness and Sock Pilfering 🧦 He has delegated negotiations to his paw parents to represent his best interests. Whilst discussions are still ongoing, I am confident that there will be a meeting of the minds and that we will land on a happy outcome that pleases all parties. cc: Laima Hamel-Jolette and Luke Theissling for viz - no pressure 😝 I hope you get to enjoy this festive break with friends and family. See you in 2025 🎄🚀

🎄 End the Year on a High Note: A Small Step Today, a Big Impact Tomorrow! 🎄 As the year comes to a close and the holiday spirit fills the air, let us take a moment to reflect—not on what we have achieved, but on what we have been putting off. We all know those phrases we often say: - "I am going to…" - "I will get to it…" - "Next week… next year…" Does this sound familiar? You are not alone. Procrastination is a natural part of being human. We believe we are saving ourselves stress, but we are actually letting it linger and clutter our minds. However, here is the good news: you can change that narrative today. This week, I challenge you to choose one thing you have been postponing. Call that old friend. Fix that squeaky door. Schedule that check-up. Whatever it is, take a small step to cross it off your list. Recently, I made that leap myself. I finally fixed my wooden floor, which had been on my mind for ages. I also sorted through my clothes and donated the pieces I knew I would never wear again. To top it off, I went to the eye clinic and got glasses—something I had avoided for far too long because I did not want to admit I actually needed them. Each task brought a sense of relief and accomplishment, leaving me lighter and more focused. ❤️ This is not about tackling massive goals or overhauling your life in one day. It is about reclaiming mental space, one task at a time. And believe me, that small win feels amazing. It gives you the momentum to head into the new year stronger and lighter. So, let us make it happen. Start small. Finish big. Be fully present with your loved ones this holiday season. 🎅✨ 🎁 What is one thing you will cross off your list today? Share in the comments—I would love to celebrate your wins! #EndOfYearReflections #TakeActionToday #HolidayJoy #PersonalGrowth
