Something For The #Weekend! WHAT IF TOMORROW NEVER COMES? Isn't it ironic that we often prioritise the future over the present? Convention shows that most of our plans are for the future. Most of the things we occupy ourselves with today are purposed for tomorrow: Studying hard today for a better job tomorrow; working hard today to save up for tomorrow; making plans today for a better tomorrow; and, even, paying for a funeral plan today for when we die in one of the many tomorrows to come. But what if the tomorrow of our aspiration never comes? What if today was all that's left for us? As the saying goes, You don't know what you've got till it's gone. Today is what we've got. Don't wait till it's gone before you realise its value. Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting we live our lives irresponsibly as loafers, focused only on the now and with no plans for the future. My point is we need to be wise in striking a healthy balance between our endeavours for the future and truly living in the present, today. After all, isn't today the tomorrow we planned for yesterday? Make your today count! #weekendvibes #today #now #present #carpediem Follow For More. * Picture: Waiting for the future while ignoring the present.

你好Nǐ hǎo! As we approach the final workweek of the year, let’s take a moment to reflect on the true essence of Christmas. Beyond the cheer of Santa Claus, Secret Santa gifts, carols, cakes, bakes, wine, and all the festive frolic, there’s a deeper message—one of hope, renewal, and compassion. Somewhere amidst the chaos, it’s also a reminder of new beginnings, the challenges faced by newborns and their parents, and the pressing realities of the world we’ve collectively shaped. Perhaps, the world we envisioned hasn’t turned out as we hoped, constrained by the limitations of our collective understanding of nature and humanity. Yet, in this imperfection lies an opportunity—an opportunity to pause, to reassess, and to act. As a species, we face existential concerns that transcend sentimentality, logic, economics, or even sustainability. These challenges exist regardless of politics, religion, science, climate change, global warming, ageing populations, economic uncertainties, or any of the myriad issues that dominate our times. If modern, educated, and affluent citizens often find themselves vulnerable—emotionally, financially, physically, or mentally—imagine the plight of those in impoverished regions, trapped in dire circumstances far beyond their control. Their struggles remind us of the stark inequalities that persist in our world and the urgent need for #empathy, #action, and #change. Let’s resolve to rise above superficial goals tied only to our health, wealth, or status. Let’s commit to resolutions that align with humanity’s greater good—resolutions rooted in sustainability, conservation, mental health, education, and hygiene. Let’s prioritize compassion, awareness, and action that address not just individual concerns but the challenges we face collectively as inhabitants of this planet. Take a moment to reflect on your concerns, your thoughts, and your views. Share them freely. Act on them boldly. Even the smallest steps can create ripples of change. Together, let’s strive to make a difference—not just for ourselves, but for the generations to come. Reflecting on the Year and Reconnecting with Myself As the year winds down, I find myself reflecting on how much effort I’ve invested in understanding the people around me – their needs, their expectations, and their aspirations. It’s been fulfilling in so many ways, but along this journey, I’ve realized something important: I’ve been overlooking me. The “real me” has evolved, shaped by years of meeting others’ expectations, adapting, and growing. But somewhere in this process, I feel like I’ve lost touch with myself—my own needs, dreams, and desires. So, here’s my thought for the upcoming year: It’s time to rediscover me. I want to create space to enjoy my own company, reconnect with my core, and prioritize me before anyone else. Not out of selfishness, but out of a deep understanding that when I’m at my best, I can give the best to others. If you’ve felt this way too, let’s make 2024 the year of reconnecting with ourselves. Because the better we understand who we are, the more meaningful our connections with the world around us will be. #SelfDiscovery #PersonalGrowth #NewYearThoughts #thoughtsofme #thoughtoftheday Please note- the image is copied from another social media the source is unknown. Many thanks to that person who inspired me to think on this topic.

Hello 👋🏼 LinkedIn community. How is your Tuesday going? For the #parents gearing up for school holidays, may the force be with you💪🏽 . Quarter 1,is nearly upon us. (We blinked and the December holidays were but a distant memory). In the working world, it is a time of reflection, retrospection and planning for the next season. I like to have conversations with myself.Todays one went like this. Do we think about what we are actually thinking about? What we see, is not always the reality. What we hear or experience can also be amplified by past hurts, unfulfilled ambitions, or the fear of failure. So as we gear up for this part of the year I’m asking myself: 1) What am I thinking about and reflecting on?What are my self inhibiting beliefs, voices I listen to, and habits that are stumping my growth(as a human, mum, employee, etc). 2) Comparison is the thief of Joy. There is no need to compete when there is room enough to celebrate each other. In other words, how does my skill, talent and job function complement another person’s? Think of the beautiful melody of an orchestra rather than a solo players musical impact. 3)How can I show up for someone today? How do I play to my strengths (remain authentically me)yet still be open to learn and impart my learnings to others? Where you are now,is someone’s else’s dream. Let’s not allow the naysayers, the negatives voices shape our view on who we are, where we are heading and who we are purposely called to be in society. You’ve got this! Ps: yes that’s actually me in the photo (it’s not a generative ai pic)😉 My happy place is Langebaan in the Western Cape☺️photo credit to my photographer. . . . #womenempoweringwomen #tuesdaythoughts #whoyouarematters #corporatelearning #meaningfullife #purposedrivenlife #purposefulliving #leadershipcoaching #thinkingdifferently #liftasyouclimb #capetown #growthmindset #planningahead #empoweringpeople #findyourpurpose #beallyoucanbe #youareenough #2024goals

𝐓𝐨 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐬, 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 ! Happy Holidays :) The Christmas spirit is one of my favorite things about this time of year—𝐚 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 that aligns so beautifully with the work I do. To me, Christmas is about 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠—not just in the form of presents, but by sharing something meaningful. Every resume I write, every LinkedIn profile I enhance, every coaching session I lead feels like giving someone the gift of clarity, confidence, and opportunity. Watching my clients light up when they see their unique value come to life is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. It’s also a season of 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. Just like we look back on the year to celebrate wins and learn from challenges, personal branding is about reflecting on your journey and uncovering the story that truly sets you apart. I love helping people turn those reflections into strategies that prepare them for what’s next. And then there’s the 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. Christmas reminds us how much relationships matter—whether it’s with family, friends, or colleagues. Helping clients connect their experiences, skills, and passions to their dream opportunities is my way of spreading that spirit of connection all year round. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻, 𝗜’𝗺 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱. Whether you’re starting fresh or reflecting on your journey, remember: your story matters, and this season is the perfect time to embrace the magic of what’s possible. Today is my birthday🎈 Every 20th of March, I pick a word I want to be intentional about for the rest of the year, and this year it’s “Choice”. I started thinking about “Choice” in relation to time. Time, as they say, is the great equaliser. Regardless of our backgrounds, our circumstances, or our aspirations, each of us is granted the same 24 hours in a day. It’s how we choose to spend those hours that ultimately defines the quality of our lives. But then I thought about “Choice” through a different lens. How there are certain choices that have the remarkable ability to create more of the same. They set in motion a ripple effect that amplifies those same qualities in our lives. ✨ We can choose CONNECTION, which fosters deeper relationships and an enriching sense of community. ✨ We can choose OPTIMISM and cultivate a mindset that attracts positivity and resilience in the face of adversity. ✨ We can choose KINDNESS, a choice that ripples outward, inspiring others to pay it forward. ✨ We can choose POSSIBILITY, daring to dream beyond what seems achievable and inviting endless opportunities into our lives. ✨ And perhaps most importantly, we can choose to take RESPONSIBILITY for our actions. By owning our choices, we reclaim our agency and empower ourselves to create the life we envision. So here’s to a year of intentional choices and to crafting a life that reflects our values, aspirations and desires. #PowerOfChoice #BirthdayReflections #ChooseWisely #TimeWellSpent

🎄 Countdown to Christmas: A Time to Reflect 🎄 As we approach the final stretch of the year, with deadlines looming and work in full swing, it's easy to get caught up in the hustle. This time of year also invites us to pause and think beyond the daily grind. In my role as a Scientific Project Manager, I often find myself immersed in the details of the job — the timelines, the tasks, the deliverables. Yet, Christmas reminds us that there is so much more to life than what fills our calendars. Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Match Girl is a beautiful story that calls on us to think of those who may not have what they need — a gentle reminder to look beyond our own reality and show kindness, especially during the holidays. While we hustle to meet our goals and wrap up projects, let's take a moment to reflect on the bigger picture and extend empathy to others. Whether through small acts of kindness, or simply being aware of those around us, we can make a difference. Wishing you all a peaceful holiday season full of reflection, compassion, and joy. #ChristmasCountdown #ThoughtsForTheSeason #Kindness #Reflection #Empathy #HolidaySpirit

As we approach Memorial Day weekend, let's take a moment to honor and remember the brave individuals who have served our country. Their sacrifices have given us the freedom and opportunities we enjoy today. 🎖 If you find yourself with an extra day this weekend, consider using it to advance your #career opportunities. 💼 Here are a few ideas: Reflect and #Plan: Take some quiet time to evaluate your career goals and create a strategic plan for the coming months. Since we are about half way through the year, think about where you want your career to be in 6 months. How do you plan to get there? 📅 #Learn Something New: Enroll in an online course or read a book relevant to your field to broaden your knowledge and skills. #LinkedInLearning has some great options! Or consider taking a personality assessment like Myers-Briggs or DISC to gain insight into your communication style. 📚 #Network Virtually: Connect with industry peers or mentors on #LinkedIn. A simple message of appreciation or interest can go a long way. Is there someone on LinkedIn whose posts you enjoy? Let them know! Or maybe draft your first LinkedIn post? 💻 #Volunteer: Honor the spirit of the holiday by giving back. Volunteer for a cause that matters to you, demonstrating leadership and community spirit. Not only does volunteering feel good, but you can also develop great connections with others in your community! 😊 Spend Time with Friends and Family: Feeding your soul helps you advance your career by giving you much needed balance and perspective. Use the extra day to enjoy and appreciate your friends and family. Take a friend out for lunch. Have a BBQ. Laugh and smile. You will feel better when you return to work next week. 👨👩👧 Balancing personal growth with gratitude ensures a meaningful and productive weekend. Most importantly, make the most of the the freedoms and opportunities that we are so blessed to have! Happy Memorial Day! 🌟 #CareerGrowth #MemorialDay #ThreeDayWeekend #ProfessionalDevelopment #ThankYouToThoseWhoServe #LifelongLearning #Goals

What is something that's once gone, it's gone forever? Time. Every second, every minute, matters — and once gone, it's gone forever. It's easy to forget this in the rush of our daily lives, but it's so important to pause and consider: what are we doing with the time we have? The legacy we leave isn't about material wealth or status. It's about the laughter we shared, the support we offered, the communities we built and the lives we touched. It's measured in the meaningful moments, the small acts of kindness, the courage to pursue our passions and the determination to make even a small corner of the world better for our having been here. We have the opportunity to make our time count for more than just ticks on a clock. I just hope that we can realise it before this opportunity is gone forever. And keep remembering it. One way how I keep being grateful for every extra minute, hour, day I get and be mindful of using it is asking this question in the beginning of a new day: "How do I make today worthwhile?". Sometimes just taking a big breath and arriving in the moment helps too (as in the picture). What's your way of reminding yourself to really capture the time you have and make it count? #actforimpact #makeitcount
