When it comes to datasets, working with something like mtcars or iris can feel like playing with a cute, cooperative puppy 🐶—clean, structured, and predictable. But stepping into the world of real-world data world is an entirely different experience—a ferocious, unpredictable wolf 🐺 ready to challenge you at every turn While contributing to the open-source project #MolevolvR , I had the opportunity to dive into real-world data from the #CARD(Comprehensive Antibiotic Resistance Database). Unlike the clean and structured datasets like mtcars or iris (the cute puppy stage 🐾), the CARD data presented unique challenges that required careful wrangling, validation, and interpretation (the scary wolf stage 🐺). Key takeaways from my experience: 1️⃣ Messy Data Requires Strategic Thinking. Handling inconsistent entries taught me how important it is to design robust validation checks 2️⃣ Collaboration with Reviewers is important as it pushed me to think critically about bugs, pathogen-drug relationships, and how to ensure the reproducibility of my code. Thank you to #JananiRavi, Evan Brenner, Faisal Alquaddoomi, and Abhirupa Ghosh for taking your time to help me overcome the challenges I faced 3️⃣ Open-Source Contributions Expand Skills. It can be something as simple as debugging existing code or as complex as developing your own functions #OpenSource #MolEvolvR #DataScience #Genomics #CARDDatabase #LearningByDoing

Navigating FOAK Facilities in Climate Deep Tech 🏗️ The end of cheap project capital resulting from higher interest rates, traditional VC hesitancy about funding infrastructure, and an overall tough market for fundraising. The current climate calls for creativity and resilience. That's why ClimateTechs are leaning on novel approaches to infrastructure development, leveraging innovative financial models and collaborative ecosystems to build faster, smarter, and more efficiently. We'll unpack these approaches in a fireside chat between Etan Bendheim of Liberation Labs and Steven Finn of Siddhi Capital at the HackSummit taking place at Newlab next week.

🔥 Exciting news: Jan Szollos, MBA, our Senior Director of Business Development at Insilico Medicine, is among the panel of judges at this year's #ONTOX hackathon in Utrecht, The Netherlands! If you're there, make sure to drop by and chat with Jan! 🚀 Jan notes, “AI technology has reached a point where it is possible to model behaviour and outcomes on all complexity levels, and hopefully, some participants of this hackathon will explore how to utilize the available technology to advance human risk assessment of chemicals without using animals.” 🔬✨ #AI #Innovation #Biotech
Fantastic work is ongoing at the #ontox hackathon in Utrecht! A large group of very talented and competent scientists is working on solutions to problems such as: How do we drive the use of AI in chemical risk assessment? To predict or protect? How can we secure human health and environmental protection at the same time? How can we facilitate the transition from animal tests to the full implementation of human-relevant methods? We expect to see the first results soon. Good luck to all the teams 💪

The journey towards revolutionizing automotive experience is paved with challenges which demand creativity and a profound comprehension of complex technology. We're impressed by the brilliant handling of the Hackathon challenge by all participants and pleasantly surprised by the innovative approaches they brought to the table. 👏🎉 #42Prague #42prg #DigiteqAutomotive #wearedigiteq #hackathon #ImageProcessing
42 Prague recently held its first-ever hackathon 🧑💻👨💻🏆 Many thanks to our partner Digiteq Automotive, without whom the event wouldn’t be possible! Their experts prepared several tasks covering the topic of emotion detection, introducing our students to image processing and machine learning. Moreover, Digiteq’s team consisting of Jan Vacík, Zuzana Šmídová, Lukas Majer and David Kraus was present during the entire duration of the hackathon to consult students on their solutions. Kudos to them for showcasing how delightful a software engineer’s job may be 🫶. Check out the video to see how it went! #42Prague #42prg #DigiteqAutomotive #Digiteq #wearedigiteq #Hackathon #ImageProcessing
