Gram positive bacillus case study 🦠🥼 33 year old patient presented with severe suffocation. Upon examination of airway, grayish exudate was seen in his larynx and trachea which might have been obstructing the airway. Exudate sample from the lesion was taken and cultured on Sheep blood agar, Loeffler slant and tellurite agar. After 24 hour incubation, gram stain was performed on colonies isolated. Gram stain showed :gram positive bacillus, club shaped, with granules, cells resembled Chinese letters. Fermentation reaction test showed that organism ferments glucose and maltose, it fails to ferment sucrose What's the diagnosis?, 😊🦠

A broad host range phage-based nanozyme (Fe-MOF@SalmpYZU47) was developed for colorimetric detection of multiple Salmonella enterica strains. The nanozyme exhibited peroxidase-like activity and a low limit of detection (LOD) of 11 CFU mL−1 for S. enterica. The Fe-MOF@SalmpYZU47 was effective in detecting S. enterica in authentic food samples, with recoveries ranging from 91.88 to 105.34%. This broad host range phage-based nanozyme shows significant potential for detecting pathogenic bacteria. https://buff.ly/4dF7eU9
