Relationships are a part of life, and healthy relationships are a gift of our recovery efforts. But often in early recovery it can be difficult to differentiate which relationships are aligned with our new way of life. Embracing healthy qualities more closely and consistently can lead to personal growth and satisfaction, making you and those around you happier. Similarly, distancing yourself from unhealthy behaviors can have the same positive effect. Actively changing these behaviors through awareness and thoughtful action is a valuable recovery process that yields significant emotional benefits. At Cedars we believe in connection, recovery and healing for everyone. An essential part of this is building relationships with our staff, alumni, the people we serve, and like-minded organizations. Which is why we're especially proud to be part of the Betty Ford Foundation's Patient Care Network. Working together, we are able to change the story for generations to come. There’s plenty of evidence that overwork is damaging to our health and the health of our organizations. Yet powerful internal and external forces nudge us to check one more email, attend one more meeting, or make one more phone call. Four new books address the question of how to deal with this widespread problem: Over Work, by Brigid Schulte; Ambition Monster, by Jennifer Romolini; What Work Means, by Claudia Strauss; and The Rest Revolution, by Amanda Miller Littlejohn. https://lnkd.in/giY7snaz

𝐀𝐦𝐢𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐞, 𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬. I recently had the pleasure of speaking at HUM (Humans Under Management) at the Royal College of Physicians in London - big thanks to Andy Hart - Financial Adviser and his incredible team for setting this up. Today, I want you to think about the way you react to information. It's often the loudest voices, the boldest claims that grab our attention. Real insight often lies in what’s whispering underneath all the noise. Asbjørn Rachlew, who spent months piecing together the truth behind one of the most challenging investigations of our time, has mastered this approach. His thinking is simple but direct: What if the opposite is true? Asbjørn is joining me this Thursday on The Art of Deciding, and I can't wait for you to hear his insights on truth, interrogation, and trusting the facts. We need to resist the urge to react to the loudest signal and instead develop the patience to uncover what truly matters.
