Christmas is coming! What is a joyous time for many brings dread for others. Feeding Families (UK) has always had Christmas at its core as that's how we got started and the need never gets less. We launched our Christmas campaign this week with the support of Kim McGuinness, North East Mayor. Especially if you are local to us (but you don't have to be), can you do one of the following: 1. Make a donation which will fill a box with food for a family. https://lnkd.in/dWD9UpAy 2. Do a fundraising event in your workplace. (Let us know if you need some support.) 3. Do a food collection at work or in your street (great to get the kids involved with!). We have flyers and collection boxes if you want to pick some up. 4. Volunteer - we need people to drive our vans and pack our boxes and there are still some spaces available. You can register here https://lnkd.in/esamzP4q A little bit of your time and effort, when added to everyone else's, will make a massive difference to thousands of home this year. Don't scroll by - be the solution to someone's need this year.
Mayor calls for action to support families in need “Feeding Families demonstrates the compassionate, pragmatic and creative thinking we need to help more families. By partnering with community organisations like Feeding Families we can help families in the here and now, and make sure they find the support they need to get back on their feet and thrive.” North East mayor Kim McGuinness is urging businesses and residents to join efforts to support thousands of families facing food insecurity this Christmas. Her appeal came at a Feeding Families (UK) and North East Chamber of Commerce event, with the charity launching a £213,700 Festive Campaign to provide food boxes and support packages to over 8,500 families and individuals in need. As professionals, we often measure success in terms of achievements, milestones, or financial gains. But lately, I’ve been reflecting on what success really means to me, and I believe it goes far beyond the traditional metrics. For me, true success is about the impact we have on others, the lives we touch, and the positive change we create in our communities. This is why I’m so proud to be a member of the Constructing Excellence Gloucestershire Club. The club’s focus isn’t just on business growth or industry recognition – it’s about using our collective strengths to make a tangible difference in the community. From supporting local charities to promoting inclusive initiatives, CE Glos is a shining example of how success can be measured by the good we do, not just the profits we make. Being part of this incredible network reminds me that real fulfilment comes from giving back and uplifting others. Whether it’s volunteering, sponsoring local events, or supporting initiatives that make a difference, the work we do as part of CE Glos is a testament to the power of community and collaboration. I’m inspired by how we come together to create positive change, and I’m excited to continue being part of this movement. Because at the end of the day, true success isn’t about what you have – it’s about what you give. #ProudToBePartOfCEGlos #MakingADifference #TrueSuccess #CommunityImpact #GivingBack
This December, Constructing Excellence Gloucestershire Club is proud to bring a little extra magic to the festive season through our ongoing two-year charity partnership with THE CHAMWELL CENTRE CHARITY. We are delighted to sponsor 8 hours of soft play sessions on the 7th and 8th of December. These sessions are designed specifically for children with disabilities, additional needs, and their siblings, offering them a safe, inclusive space to play, laugh, and make wonderful memories together. For us, this isn’t just about supporting a local charity—it’s about helping to create joy for these amazing children and their families during the festive season. Christmas is a time for togetherness and celebration, and we’re so grateful to be part of bringing that to the Chamwell Centre’s community. A huge thank you to the Chamwell Centre for their tireless work in supporting children and families. We are honoured to contribute to their mission and spread some festive cheer! 🎅 🎅 🎅 🎅 #ConstructingExcellence #ChamwellCentre #ChristmasJoy #CommunitySupport #InclusivePlay #MakingADifference 🦋Ria Heap🦋 Constructing Excellence South West Jonathan White Sam Minett-Smith Kimberley Galpin Katie Pickering Nikki Budding Matt Leach Ben Thomas Andrew B. This is a great new program that GlobalMedic (David McAntony Gibson Foundation) launched with the support of Haleon It is so relevant right now. 1 in 7 visits to emergency rooms are deemed unnecessary and could have been dealt with through a primary care provider. Our emergency rooms are clogged and programs that take the pressure off of them will have an impact. Haleon donated thousands of bottles of Children's Advil to us. We are distributing them along with Buckley's cough medication and other over the counter medications to treat colds and flus. Imagine being a family with a sick child who just needs a bit of medication. By distributing this much needed and high quality donated product and getting it into the hands of families in need, we are able to ensure that kids get the meds they need and don't end up in the emergency room. This program helps to ease the burden on emergency rooms, takes the pressure off of parents who are struggling financially and most importantly gets medications to kids who need it.
“Seeing mothers, knowing that they could not afford a basic box of Advil for their children, and knowing they’re going to have this for the winter season—it just blew their minds.” Haleon and GlobalMedic launched the Haleon Health Trailer focused on providing self-care products and services to marginalized communities. This initiative aims to improve health inclusivity and literacy, supporting groups like Pilgrim Feast Tabernacles—a non-profit that improves lives through nutrition and skill development. #reliefefforts #aidinaction #charity #humanitarianaid

🧡Please don’t underestimate the small actions that you can take to support your local hospice. 🧡Whether they are providing care at home or providing care in a hospice, the equipment, nursing staff and overheads are costs that continue to rise as more people within our communities need hospice care. 🧡 You can support now by.. 🔸Donating good quality items to their shops. 🔸Volunteering some of your time (not only in charity shops but in their offices, gardens, with photography, by providing companionship, as bereavement support, as a driver … there are so many opportunities!) 🔸Donate whatever money you can spare ~ every little really does help! 🔸Take part in one of the hospice’s fundraising events. (To fundraise or provide volunteer support) 🔸Create your own fundraising event. 🔸Spread the word!! #hospice #hospiceathome #hospiceuk #fundraising #volunteer

Today is an important day for hospices everywhere - and we need your help. Today, MPs will debate hospice funding in the House of Commons. This is a crucial moment for hospice charities across England, with so many facing a funding crisis as costs soar. Can it be right that hospices have to raise 70, 80 or even 90% of their own running costs in order to provide care for people at the end of the lives? We’re asking for funding to be fair and equitable so that people across our county and our country can access specialist, compassionate care when they’re dying. Could you message your MP today to ask them to help protect Hospiscare and local hospices nationwide? #hospices #parliament #healthcare #hospiceuk

Introducing a New Benefit for employees: Charity Days! 🌟 We’re excited to share a new initiative that reflects our commitment to supporting the causes that matter to our team and our community. From now on, all employees will have the opportunity to take an additional day of paid leave each year to participate in a charitable activity of their choice. Whether it’s volunteering at a shelter, joining a fundraising event, helping with a community cleanup, or supporting any cause that’s close to their heart, this day is about giving back in a way that feels meaningful to them. We hope this small step will make it easier for our team to engage with and support the communities around us while strengthening the values we stand for as an organisation. Last year Veriflo Limited supported the following great charities: 🌟Get Kids Going! - sport and mobility for disabled children 🌟Chalvey Sports FC and a local netball team - supporting grassroot sports 🌟Diabetes UK - know diabetes. fight diabetes 🌟Ellenor Hospice Care Shop - hospice care in homes 🌟Back Up - transforming lives after spinal cord injury We can’t wait to see the amazing ways our team members will use this day to support their communities. #CharityDays #CommunitySupport #VerifloValues

If you follow the Public Interest Law Center's work in areas like housing, public education, and voting, you may not be as familiar with our Garden Justice Legal Initiative. Community gardens are critical anchors in Philadelphia's Black and Brown neighborhoods. They have been shown to increase access to fresh produce, improve air quality, and significantly reduce gun violence and overall crime. Yet in many gardens, the neighborhood residents who steward the land do not have legal title. Many gardens sit on parcels that are at risk of being lost at a tax foreclosure sale to developers or real estate speculators. The Public Interest Law Center represents non-profit gardens seeking legal access to the land they have been maintaining, in some cases for decades. We use litigation, advocacy, community education, and organizing strategies to preserve Philadelphia green space. As you prepare to make decisions about your year-end donations, please consider the Public Interest Law Center. Growing justice is what we do here. You can support us at pubintlaw.org/donate.
Your donation this Giving Season supports urban farms and community gardens that provide fresh, affordable food to neighborhoods in need. 🍎🌿 These vital resources strengthen communities, promote health, and empower neighbors to care for one another. Donate today and help grow justice: pubintlaw.org/donate #FoodSecurity #GivingTuesday #TogetherForJustice
