sanitary products vs menstrual products Think about the word sanitary, what comes to your mind, 'cleanliness, yes? and that's a big issue by using that kind of language around periods, it implies that #menstruation is inherently unclean or something to be hidden which simply isn't true and that kind of thinking can be really damaging because for one, it contributes to feelings of shame and embarassment around a perfectly natural bodily function - like it is something to be ashamed of Why do we still have thousands of euphemic words to refer to #menstruation? Why do we still see liquids of different colors except red used when advertising #menstrualproducts? The language we use around menstruation matters, it is about shaping perceptions, breaking down #stigma and ultimately fostering a more open and informed dialogue
