Today, I had the privilege of speaking at the COP29 Azerbaijan side event, Youth-Driven Sustainable Cities: Advancing Just Transformations of Urban Systems, held in Baku, Azerbaijan. Thanks to YES-Europe for the invitation and speakers from Politecnico di Torino, European Youth Energy Network - EYEN, and Paryavaran Mitra, we explored how youth-led innovations are reshaping urban and regional areas toward a sustainable future. Key Highlights included: + Showcasing groundbreaking work by young leaders in green infrastructure, renewable energy, and climate resilience. + Discussing collaborative pathways to scale these solutions across sectors, emphasizing the importance of mentorship, skill-building, and partnerships. + Sharing inspiring examples from Youth4Climate awardees, YES-Europe, and the European Youth Energy Forum. It’s clear that youth have a critical role to play in building a sustainable future. From innovative urban solutions to cross-sector collaborations, the energy and creativity of young leaders continue to inspire hope and drive action for a just and resilient world. Together, we can accelerate impactful change. #youthleadership #sustainablecities #climatecction #COP29 #urbantransformation
That knowledge transfer is quite important and understanding the need to facilitate exchange programs is best. If Africa can solve the issue of safe and sustainable transport systems then we have reached a great milestone. I hope this negotiations goes into actionable solutions.
