👏 We are one of the funded projects of the EIT Deep Tech Talent Initiative’s Call for Training Proposals 2024! Presented in consortia with Politecnico di Torino, our project ‘Clean Tech Academy’ has been selected as one of the 15 winning programmes of the Call. The project began on 14 October and will develop and deliver a training programme in Clean technologies. Showcasing our commitment to building a skilled deep tech workforce across Europe. We look forward to working with our consortia partners and contributing to promoting deep tech education! 📍 PowerYouth Project Planning Meeting in Vienna – Connecting Youth in Energy Communities Across Europe! 🌍✨ From February 14th to 16th, PowerYouth project partners from Greece, Portugal, Austria, Poland, and Latvia gathered in Vienna to plan upcoming activities, foster cross-country collaboration, and outline initiatives for each of the five pilot countries, including Latvia. Our organization was represented by Maija and Liega. With each country facing unique challenges and approaches to youth engagement in energy communities, the diverse perspectives enriched the project and expanded the pool of best practices. A big congratulations to YES-Europe’s 2024 Future of Energy Report team for the recent publication of the latest landmark report - the 5th such publication in our organisation’s history 🌟✅ Well done to Daphne Sotirchou, Florentina Oldani, Zeinab Hassano, Spiros Touloupakis, Gayathri Medha Hariharan and Anuj Gopalsamy Sakthivel, with expert coordination from Kalliopi Lennax to bring everyone’s analysis, research and writing all together into fully-formed content. A big shoutout to our Comms Team of Karolina Panko and Marko Milutinovic for their industrious and creative report design ✨📝 The Future of Energy Report brings the voices of the youth forward. Following the tradition of previous publications, the aim of 2024’s report was to share the opinions, and also tangible youth initiatives, of European young professionals about current sector disruptions. #TB to the YES-Europe 2024 Annual Conference, in collaboration with Humasol 🔋☀️ Highlights from the final session of the day - a panel discussion centred around YES-Europe's involvement in COP28 UAE in 2023 and the European Youth Energy Network - EYEN’s participation at COP29 Azerbaijan in 2024 🇦🇪🇦🇿 Moderated by Vice-President Max van der Linden, with insights from Operations Manager Laia Guitart (who were both part of our COP28 delegation), we shared our insights with our friends from EYEN, Treasurer and Board Member Jonas Henke and Partnerships and Funding Team Manager Max Haizmann - the latter of which was fresh from his visit to the Baku conference the previous week 💡🦜 In the build-up to COP29, YES-Europe and EYEN collaborated on publishing a position paper titled: "Sustainable Cities and the Need to Foster Youth and Local-Led Action to Achieve the Goals of the Paris Agreement" (check it out here: https://lnkd.in/dXADiHsx) and also hosted a side-event titled 'Youth-Driven Sustainable Cities: Advancing Just Transformations of Urban Systems, where our COP29 Project Lead Inez Brogowska moderated the first panel discussion on "Youth-Driven Innovation: Transforming Cities and Regions for a Sustainable Future" with 5 international energy transition leaders 🌟📝 Max, Laia, Jonas and Max discussed the state of recent UN Climate Change conferences, the achievements and progress made and the objectives moving forward, as we see it. We are grateful for the friendship that we have developed down the years with EYEN in building a future where European youth is instrumental in shaping a just and sustainable energy transition ✅✨ We were also delighted that Jonas, Max and Halina Jagielska (Policy Analyst and Manager of the Youth Energy Consumer Task Force) attended our conference in Belgium to round off a busy 2024.
