I've often wondered why many students in our country equate academic success with merely achieving high grades. This raises two important questions: what does it truly mean to 'pass highly,' and what opportunities do high grades actually afford students after graduation? It's time for us to reevaluate our education system and recognize that it's not just about achieving excellent grades, but about cultivating a deeper understanding and appreciation of the material. We must learn to apply theoretical knowledge in practical, real-world contexts. I've noticed that some students celebrate their outstanding grades, but when faced with a similar challenge just a short time later, they struggle to replicate their success. This highlights a significant issue: are we truly learning, or are we simply memorizing information for the sake of passing exams? #Education #Students

To kick off the academic year, I encouraged my Foundation Year students to reflect on the challenges of learning in an educational context. They highlighted factors such as students' #motivation and #priorknowledge, the #learningenvironment, the perceived #literacy and #socialclass gap between tutors and students, and the predominantly unidirectional nature of learning in school as likely challenges. Through in-class discussions and contributions on Padlet, students also shared their personal interpretations of learning, revealing profound and eye-opening perspectives on learning! 😀 Many students find the transition from secondary or post-16 education to university daunting, as they soon realise the academic demands of higher education and the emphasis on self-regulated learning. Incorporating active learning strategies before and throughout university can gradually boost students' confidence in developing independent thinking skills. #Activelearning #Reflectivethinkingandlearning

Why do we graduate? Is it just to pass exams or to gain knowledge? In today's fast-paced world, the very essence of higher education is being questioned. While some students attend college simply to obtain a degree, the true value of graduation lies in more than just passing exams. It’s about the skills we acquire, the knowledge we gain, and how we apply it in the real world. But with the rising availability of online resources and alternative learning platforms, traditional college attendance is steadily declining. More students are finding flexible, tailored ways to educate themselves outside of the classroom. So what’s the real goal of education? Is it about checking boxes or expanding our horizons? In this video, I explore the evolving landscape of education and challenge the way we think about learning in the 21st century. Let’s redefine success beyond the classroom walls. #Education #Graduation #LifelongLearning #FutureOfWork #SkillsDevelopment #College #bengali

Time to Rethink Our Education System!! In today’s fast-paced world, the traditional education model focusing primarily on theory is no longer enough. To truly prepare students for the real world, we must balance theory with hands-on experience. Imagine an education system where at least 50% of the learning is practical—students would not only understand concepts but also apply them in real-world situations. Practical learning makes understanding easier and more effective. It fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and the development of essential skills. By embracing this change, we can bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical expertise, helping individuals become more adaptable, innovative, and job-ready. #EducationReform #PracticalLearning #SkillsDevelopment #FutureOfEducation

#Quality Over Quantity: A Lesson I Learn Every Exam Season !! As both a teacher and a student, I’ve realized that exams aren’t just about measuring knowledge but about motivating students to truly learn and apply what they’ve studied. Every exam season, I find myself concluding this: The less you cram, the more you benefit. When we focus on quality rather than quantity, we encourage deeper understanding instead of rote memorization. Learning should empower students to think critically, not just passively absorb large amounts of information for the sake of a test, only to forget it later. What if we designed exams to inspire long-term learning instead of short-term results? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this. How can we create a more meaningful learning experience for students? #education #studentlife #exams #universities #college
