Big ideas, bigger connections: What I learned at Oslo Innovation Week’s amazing kickoff. Huge shoutout to Oslo Innovation Week and Mesh Oslo and the incredible organizers for an unforgettable opening night! 🙌 It was my first time attending, and I can already say—it won’t be my last! Meeting so many brilliant minds left me inspired. We live in such an exciting time where innovation is moving at breakneck speed. In a conversation with Thomas Steiner from OLM Nature Escapes, this position became clear: 𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐝𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐲. 🌱 The OLM Nature Escape is not a Bio Hotel. They consciously decided against it, because the consequence would be to import goods from other countries just to obtain the Bio-Certification. Their understanding of sustainability involves finding regional suppliers and working with small local farmers, even if that means giving up the Certification and the "Bio-Hotel" label. 👨🌾 In general, they don’t want to be “put in a box.” You don’t live tolerance and mindfulness by branding yourself for a niche or a certain type of customer.
