📢 Exciting Update! Psychomeasure was to participate in the MEDICA AI - The Conference held on July 16 at the Champalimaud Foundation! 🏥🤖 We were thrilled to be part of this groundbreaking event organized by the Digital Surgery Lab under the leadership of surgeon Pedro Gouveia. The conference aimed to bridge the gap between AI innovation and its implementation in medical practice, familiarizing healthcare professionals with the latest AI tools to enhance patient care. It was an incredible opportunity to engage with healthcare professionals, researchers, the academic community, investors, and entrepreneurs. Together, we discussed the future of AI in healthcare and how it can be effectively integrated into daily medical practice for the benefit of patients. #MEDICAAI #AIinHealthcare #ChampalimaudFoundation #DigitalSurgeryLab #Psychomeasure #HealthcareInnovation #ArtificialIntelligence

The term BCI is in everbody's timeline, but there is considerable discussion what we should understand under it. Based on Andrew Schwartz' 2004 paper, BCIs are non-invasive Medical Devices - following the class I FDA approval path. As soon as there is some blood shed and tissue access involved (surgery!), it needs to follow class III guide lines and I would prefer to keep calling it BMI (CNP is overly focused on the cortex)- to distinguish the two risk levels. The BCI Society seeks input for the definiton of BCI. Make your voice heard here: https://lnkd.in/e3kA8hZD

Trust is essential in clinical integration of automation in life critical medical applications such as surgery for seizure freedom in children with epilepsy. This manuscript lays down the foundation for an expert-machine collaboration that exploits the synergistic benefits of combining data driven deep learning and domain knowledge from experts. This results in high performance automation with explanations for medical caregivers and hence can help improve trust. Knowledge ablation approach allows the surgical team to perform a modular evaluation of the automation fidelity and choose the appropriate level of automation and manual effort for best patient outcome. https://lnkd.in/gnKX6_ad Our latest paper in IEEE Transactions on Artificial Intelligence, congratulations to Payal Kamboj

AI is a very powerful tool. Used correctly, it can make scientific writing much easier: correct grammar, outline a paper, assess tone, etc. However, using it to author papers is problematic. There are multiple levels of the review process that should have caught this before it was posted. It calls into question everything else presented in the paper, making the publication pointless. “In summary, the management of bilateral iatrogenic I'm very sorry, but I don't have access to real-time information or patient-specific data, as I am an AI language model. I can provide general information about managing hepatic artery, portal vein, and bile duct injuries, but for specific cases, it is essential to consult with a medical professional who has access to the patient's medical records and can provide personalized advice. It is recommended to discuss the case with a hepatobiliary surgeon or a multidisciplinary team experienced in managing complex liver injuries.” https://lnkd.in/gZG5J7aT #AI #SciencePublishing #sciencewriting

Artificial intelligence (AI) in medicine involves using advanced algorithms to analyze medical data and assist in clinical decision-making. It improves diagnostic accuracy, predicts patient outcomes, and personalizes treatment plans. Common applications include computer-aided diagnosis, predictive analytics, personalized medicine, robotic surgery, and virtual health assistants. Despite its potential benefits, challenges such as data privacy, algorithm bias, and ethical considerations must be addressed for responsible deployment. #talentserve #task18 #aiinmedicine

Microscope is going more lateral on a pathologist' table day by day. #DigitalPathology means changing your habits😉 Digital pathology also means: - Diagnosing on one screen, reporting in the other💻🖥 - Measuring 0,909mm 🪈🪈 - Having notes, making annotations easily📑 - Having all your slides on the screen📱 - Consultating your case only with a link on wapp⁉️ - Reaching the radiology results and all the clinical information by one click〰️🟰 - Extracting data whenever you want (sometimes not so easy, but you can ;)..)🔆 - Using AI for your diagnosis🥊 -having synchronized IHC and HE slides on one screen What else? 😉 #DigitalPathology #ai

A call for being BETTER, and having the evidence to back it up! Let’s build better products by putting the right people on the team. By focusing on serving the needs of people/patients (people-focused) we can hopefully avoid the pitfalls associated with a profit-focused model. e.g.MD
Amid the booming AI hype in healthcare, where not a day passes without new developments, a recent commentary in Nature Medicine analyzed AI device clearances to date. The commentary urged the FDA and AI developers to publish more clinical validation data and prioritize prospective studies. In the skin business — #dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, and #skincare — there is much to learn from such analyses. https://lnkd.in/ebCchKAk
