The "Public Dialogue on Quantum Computing" report by the Quantum Computing and Simulation Hub offers an insightful glimpse into how the UK public views this emerging technology. It’s encouraging to see many of the findings align with the goals of the XPRIZE #QuantumApplications competition. Some key points from the report: 👉 Public optimism about quantum’s role in healthcare and climate change, areas. 👉 A clear call for regulation and greater public involvement, ensuring the benefits of quantum are widely shared. 👉 While awareness is growing, there are still significant knowledge gaps. In my opinion, there's a lot to stem from these findings, and the #quantumcomputing ecosystem will need to continue collaborating across industry, academia, government, and the public to address concerns and educate, while being honest about where current quantum technology stands and what will need to be done to reach its full potential. This report is a timely resource as we continue to shape #quantumcomputing's future. Worth a read for anyone interested in where public opinion stands. Check out the report here:

Elevate Quantum CEO Zachary Yerushalmi: "The scale of the mountain west ecosystem is no accident — whereas quantum computing is still some years away from commercial applications, quantum sensing and enabling hardware applications are commercially here and scaling today. As the home to more sensing and enabling hardware breakthroughs than any other — 4 Nobels in 20 years, nearly half of all quantum Nobels during that time — the Mountain West already has THOUSANDS of quantum employees working with commercial ready products for applications like next-gen GPS, timing, clean energy and more. It’s the reason the $1 BILLION in loan capital unlocked by this CO Quantum Bill is so important: large, commercial quantum companies in our region need growth capital to scale. And because these sensing and enabling technologies are critical to quantum computing itself, this commercial scale drives a virtuous circle that means computing breakthroughs also happen here first. That’s why companies like Quantinuum, the largest independent quantum computing company globally, Atom Computing, and Infleqtion are also based in our region and growing so quickly. Quantum isn’t just bigger in the Mountain West. In a place like no other, it is also out in the wild.” #QuantumColorado #elevatequantum #quantumtechnology https://lnkd.in/d4v_pPdR

A critical question that arises as I evolve towards a dramatically lower level of engagement with the quantum computing community is: What is the best, optimal, simplest, and easiest - and FREE - way of keeping up with the most important developments on a weekly, biweekly, monthly, quarterly, and even year-to-date basis? Some may want a daily basis, but my interest is the longer time scales. Something on the order of a single page or two for each of those time scales. Brevity and conciseness are essential - mandatory. There are indeed SO MANY sources of information, but each tends to have its own focus or is more of a sample of developments than a rigorous summary based on importance. One difficulty is research - a lot of it is important at some level and over some timeframe, but not necessarily ready to be imminently transformed into practical solutions. And I'm not so interested in random news, such as who got what funding or signed some contract or incremental or minor advances. And I'm not so interested in tools and software infrastructure in general, unless they truly do unlock some notable advance in algorithms, applications or benchmarks. Maybe the top 10 developments in various categories, such as hardware in general, qubit and gate fidelity, circuit size, quantum Fourier transform (and quantum phase estimation) capacity, benchmark results, algorithms, applications, tools, and software infrastructure. Suggestions? #QuantumComputing #QuantumApplications #QuantumAlgorithms #QuantumInformationScience #QIS #QuantumTechnologies #QuantumTech #Quantum https://lnkd.in/eX6ZY4Yi
