At Baltic Ghost Wing (yes, the real Baltic Ghost Wing — not some shadowy imitation), we thrive on bold ideas that move the needle, not just the conversation. Our proving grounds in Jõhvi and amphibious USV/UUV/UAS facility in Vehendi are where theory meets reality — and only the prepared survive. Ideas are easy; execution is rare. So, if you’ve got something to offer, bring it with purpose. Don’t be the good idea fairy, flitting in with sparkle and no substance. Respect the process. Respect our time. Think deeply. Act deliberately. #uas #cuas #testing #training #estonia

Keeping flight simulators up-to-date is an ongoing challenge that requires diligent effort. In our latest blog post, we revisit this critical topic, drawing from our extensive experience and the insights shared nearly ten years ago at the Royal Aeronautical Society's 2014 conference on "Keeping Flight Simulators Current & Capable." From aircraft systems databases and ground station data to visual models and airworthiness directives, numerous aspects demand regular updates to maintain realism and compliance. Our blog categorizes these elements, highlights the importance of robust processes, and offers practical advice on managing updates effectively through active engagement with manufacturers and robust monitoring systems. https://lnkd.in/gEQkDYRS #FlightSimulation #AviationTraining #PilotTraining #SimOps

https://lnkd.in/g4C34e38 Navigating Abnormal Operations in A320 RNP AR - Flight Training Essentials Welcome to the penultimate chapter of our specialized A320 RNP AR eLearning series - the Abnormal Operation module. In this compact yet crucial segment, we delve into the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to handle unexpected events and challenges mid-flight. 🛫 In this video, our seasoned instructors guide you through: Loss of RNP AR capabilities due to guidance or navigation issues and system failures. Procedures for managing engine failure during an approach and after takeoff. Discover the steps a pilot should take when confronted with deviations in lateral (LDEV) and vertical (VDEV) guidance and how to regain control. Understand the significance of GPS for RNP AR operations and how to cope with its loss. Learn about coasting on inertial data, when to trust your Flight Management System (FMS), and when to switch to contingency procedures. In any abnormal operation, your quick thinking and proficiency can mean the difference between a standard flight and a challenging one. This module equips you with the knowledge to make those decisions confidently and safely. We also discuss what actions to take during system failures, how to manage navigation if your GPS fails, and how to proceed with engine failures at different stages of RNP AR procedures. By the end of this video, you'll be able to: Identify and respond to abnormal operations in RNP AR. Execute alternative strategies when primary systems fail. Handle engine failures during critical phases of flight. 👨✈️ For pilots and aviation professionals, this training is imperative to ensure the utmost safety and proficiency in managing the A320's sophisticated systems under duress. 📌 Like, Comment, and Subscribe for more expert flight training content. 🔔 Turn on notifications to stay updated with our latest releases! https://lnkd.in/g4C34e38 #A320RNPAR, #AbnormalOperationTraining, #FlightSafety, #PilotTraining, #CommercialAviation, #AircraftNavigation, #FlightProcedures, #EmergencyProcedures, #GPSFailure, #EngineFailure, #AviationEducation, #AviationProfessionals, #PilotSOPs, #FlightSimulatorTraining, #FlightManagementSystem, #CoastingNavigation

1️⃣Ever heard of VOR? Very High-Frequency Omnidirectional Range, a game-changer in aviation navigation! 🛫 It projects magnetic "spokes" in all directions, helping pilots find their way. 2️⃣ The VOR receiver onboard turns signals into your magnetic bearing to/from the station. Think of it as your in-air compass, guiding the way through the skies! 🧭✨ 3️⃣ But how do you interpret the signals? When you select a course, envision a line from the VOR station. If left of course, the CDI needle points right, and vice versa. 📡🔍 4️⃣ 🚀 Tips on VOR usage! Positively identify the station, stay in line-of-sight, and remember flying TO a station means TO indication on the selected course. 👨✈️ #FlightSchool #SkyGuidance #AviationTech #VOR #FlightTech #PilotLife #PilotTips #Navigation #avelflightschool

When we need to land our helicopter in cloud, darkness or bad weather we would use an ILS or ‘Instrument Landing System’ approach. Here, Flight Examiner Angus is demonstrating how to set up and execute an instrument approach in the AW139 Full Flight Simulator. ILS means that the aircraft can automatically descend towards a runway by itself, whilst the Pilot monitors the instruments until the aircraft has visibility to land. If a landing cannot be accomplished following an instrument approach, the aircraft will execute a missed approach procedure.

MARS JETS - Update 36 of x: P6 gets possessed ❤👁👁💚 ... continued from previous update & going a few months back because I forgot to share earlier. After P5's 1.25 seconds hover I had tasted flight! Decided to build P6 but BETTER! Prototype 5 v 6 comparison: P5 Dimensions = 1×0.5 metres Airframe weight = 25.9grams Build time = 6hrs Total powered flight time = 1.25 seconds Flight date = 23 December 2023 P6 Dimensions = 1×0.5 metres (same as P5) Airframe weight = 14.5 grams (44% less than P5) Build time = approx 3hrs (50% less than P5) Total powered flight time = 1.25 minutes (98% MORE than P5) Flight date = 29 December 2023 (6 days later) Result: ✅ (44% + 50% + 98%)/3 = 64% 64% improvement in 6 days That's approx 10% improvement PER DAY! ❗ Lesson: PROCEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ✈🚀🚀🚀🚀 Next: P7 is built & looks other-worldly 🤩💎

Power for height - attitude for airspeed? or Pitch for glideslope - power for airspeed? The first mantra replays in my head every time I'm piloting on final approach - drummed into me by many an instructor - but is it correct? Boldmethod's article examines both - but I'm curious following yesterday's check ride where my instructor used the latter approach. Thoughts and comments welcome. https://lnkd.in/gEsPwhjq #pilottraining #aviation #aerospace
