Balancing Mission and Money - is that even possible? In order to demonstrate impact to donor, is the correct thing to do focus more on the mission than financial sustainability? Here's the struggle: Donors want to see their contributions make a difference, but funding can't dry up! BAnC Services believe the right balance between mission and money should be sought! Here are 2 crucial elements to bear in mind when seeking the right balance: => Transparency is King (and Queen): Clearly communicating how donations are used builds trust with donors and keeps them invested in the cause. => Diversification of Your Funding Basket is Key: Seek funding from a mix of corporates, trusts and foundations and individuals i.e. donations, grants, donated services, corporate partnerships... Don't rely solely on one funding source or type! This helps to create a steady flow of resources. #NonprofitFinance #ImpactMeasurement #FinancialSustainability

Many nonprofits miss a key step: telling people where their money goes. Why do you need it? What will it fund? How will it make an impact? Instead of just asking for donations, break it down: $5 provides [specific impact]. $25 supports [specific program]. $1,000 funds [specific goal]. Make it clear. Make it simple. Show how their support creates real change. That’s the story donors want to hear.

A thought for the week. In fundraising, it is easy to get caught up in numbers and goals, but at the heart of every dollar donated is a real human story. Each gift supports not just a cause, but the people and missions behind it. That is why relationships and connections are so important—they’re what humanize fundraising. At its core, it is people helping people. When we take the time to truly know our supporters, to hear their stories and share the impact of their generosity, we are not just raising money. We are building meaningful partnerships that inspire long-term support. It's about cultivating trust and establishing a connection that extends beyond a transaction, making every interaction more authentic and impactful. #relationshipbuilder #fundraising #peoplehelpingpeople

#truth #fundraisers If you’re using a templated online donation page that just shows giving options and the fields for the donor to fill in, you’re probably leaving money on the table. Use that precious real estate to restate your core offer and value proposition, and to inspire your donors to be as generous as possible at the point of giving.

Asset-rich, cash-poor: the donor dilemma. Curious? I was, too. Let's explore this together. Are US Donors Asset-Rich but Cash-Poor? It is a fundraising paradox. Nonprofits face a fundraising challenge: inflation soars, donors feel the pinch, yet US wealth is at record highs. How do we raise money in these contradictory times? This reminded me of something an old business school professor used to say: "Trust me, there is so much more money out there than you think." Key takeaway: Abundant wealth exists, even in challenging times. The problem today is that donors may have significant wealth but limited liquid cash for immediate donations. But there's a silver lining: Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs). #DAFs are charitable accounts that allow donors to make tax-deductible contributions of assets, which can then be invested and granted out to nonprofits over time. These funds allow donors to contribute assets (stocks, real estate), which are then converted into cash for your nonprofit. #DAFs offer tax advantages for donors and much-needed funds for your mission. If I've learned anything from my conversations with Franceska Rolda from Every.org and by following Mitch Stein from Chariot (givechariot.com), accepting donations from DAFs is critical for fundraising in today's economy. By adapting to this paradoxical financial landscape, nonprofits can thrive even amidst challenges. What are your experiences with DAFs? Do you have any tips for educating your development team and donors on using them? Share your insights below! I hope this helps! #fundraising #nonprofits #DAFs #donors #philanthropy #nonprofitstrategy
