Thank to Mr Edwin Yeo of National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) Singapore for the invaluable opportunity for BapaHebatSG to participate in BoardMatch today! We're also grateful to everyone who visited our booth, showing interest and taking the time to get to know us better. BoardMatch, an initiative by Singapore's National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC), connects non-profit organizations (NPOs) with skilled volunteers for board membership and governance. It strengthens NPO governance and capacity by matching professionals with relevant expertise to vacancies. Benefits include enhanced leadership, increased capacity, and meaningful engagement for volunteers. Eligible NPOs must be registered charities or IPCs with a governance structure, while volunteers need passion, skills, and time commitment. NVPC provides matching services, governance training, and resources, ultimately boosting social impact.

Businesses who want to grow a culture of giving in Singapore can take inspiration from cross-sector partnerships such as HealthServe Ltd and 21 Carpenter, Singapore’s, facilitated by the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre. NVPC helped connect HealthServe, a charity that provides access to healthcare for migrant workers, with 21 Carpenter, a heritage-driven hotel looking to do good. The result? Over $14,000 raised for HealthServe so far, with even more to come. How this partnership forged through NVPC’s Company of Good worked: instead of accepting congratulatory flowers for their April 2024 opening, 21 Carpenter used their connections for good by asking its partners and guests to send donations to HealthServe. Donors gave through giving.sg, our one-stop portal for givers and charities. By igniting this collaboration between HealthServe and 21 Carpenter, NVPC reaffirms our commitment to bring the people, public, and private sectors together. Real privilege to be attending The Wheel #CharitySummit 2024 in Croke Park today, where over 600 charity leaders and representatives are part of a dialogue for the future of the non-profit and charity sector. Minister Joe O'Brien of the Department of the Rural and Community Affairs and The Wheel's CEO Ivan Cooper were keynote speaker. Key messages have been: >National Philanthropy Council has been launched to champion why Ireland needs to develop this across corporate and individual giving >Celebrate 30 years of community employment schemes that have changed thousand's of lives >The Non profit sector needs to adapt and innovate, and stand united in the face of growing questioning of it's voice in a majority state-funded charity model >There are 12,000 charities in Ireland, of which 4,000 are educational, showcasing how the Government is incredibly dependant on charity expertise to provide national services >Finally, and crucially, The Wheel's core messages is that 70% of funding to charities from Government needs to be sustainable multi-annual funding with a whole of Government partnership approach

Which platform is better for non-profits? IG or FB? Here's the survey finding on NGOs in 18 countries*. Period: Jan 22-Dec 23 Social Media Engagement Rate** Instagram: 1.07% FB: 0.2% Q: Does that mean non-profits should channel all their resources to Instagram? SR: It depends. If most of your supporters (volunteers, donors & members) are not on Instagram, channelling all your firepower there makes little sense. If they are mostly on FB, meet and greet your volunteers and donors there.
