✨🎅The origins of the Christmas markets date back to the Middle Ages. Already in 14th century, the first Christmas markets emerged in Germany/German speaking regions and cities like Munich, Nuremberg, Dresden or Vienna. Back then, they had little to do with the enjoyment of today’s markets but served as a place for buying commodities for winter and Christmas. 🥬🍗 In 17th and 18th centuries, it got more common to consume foods and drinks at the Christmas markets. A shift to a more folkloric character occurred in 19th century, when Christmas trees as well as decorative booths, lightings and carousels entered the markets. 🌟🎄❄️ They attract locals as well as tourists in Germany and increasingly spread into the world! This led to Christmas markets not only in European countries, but also USA, Canada and Asian countries like Japan and Singapore. 🌍 Today, it is a great place get into mood for Christmas. We celebrate this tradition by meeting friends and family to enjoy foods and hot wine within a wonderful atmosphere! 💝 Did you ever go to a Christmas market? #christmasmarket #weihnachtsmarkt #europeantraditions

Just one week to go before our next all-client event, 'The Next Big Thing,' taking place at The RSA (The royal society for arts, manufactures and commerce) and we are thrilled to share our final line-up. The timing couldn’t be more perfect, offering insights and strategies as we navigate the post-budget, post-US election landscape. Our clients will have the exclusive opportunity to hear from Kate Nicholls OBE CEO of UKHospitality, who will provide an in-depth analysis of the current state of the market, highlighting key trends and challenges, as well as opportunities for suppliers to the hospitality industry to get involved and make an impact. Adding their perspectives, our panellists — Shereen Ritchie, Chris Ammermann, and Amber Wood— will share their insights on what they see as the ‘Next Big Things’ for their respective businesses, set against the backdrop of current market headwinds. Additionally, Omne’s new research, created in partnership with CGA by NIQ, will be presented. We will dive into Gen Z’s expectations and behaviours when eating out, captured in the new ‘Gen Z Hierarchy of Needs.’ This framework will offer invaluable perspectives on how operators and the wider market can connect more deeply with the next generation of consumers. We look forward to seeing everyone at what promises to be a revealing and very future-focused event. #Foodservice #b2bevent #UKHospitality #Foodtrends

Got some few wedding invitations spread across cities (some destination one's, some old school ) in the next few days....and this got me thinking 💭 how the wedding industry's gonna be on 🔥..... From 𝗷𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗶 to 𝗷𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗿𝘆, everyone's gonna cash in and this wedding boom could be a sign of economic prosperity. As, when people are confident about their future, they splurge on celebrations.... And with so many weddings, there comes chaos at airports, hotels, and banquet halls.... like the 𝙂𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩 𝙄𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙖𝙣 𝙒𝙚𝙙𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙍𝙪𝙨𝙝!! From business perspective, while love is in the air, so are opportunities.....for sectors like hospitality, travel, and retail. They're set to boom. But also, watch out for inflation. All this spending could push prices up - just like every rose🌹 has its thorns. #WeddingEconomics #BullMarket #InvestSmart #WeddingRush

What I learned from 2024 ?? 🤔 When I wanted to open Black Sheep Coffee in the UAE, I was met with endless doubts, even though many companies were fighting to bring the brand to the market: “Are you crazy? Opening your first location next to a market giant?” “The market is already oversaturated; a new coffee shop opens every single day.” “You’ll never stand out in the most crowded market in the world.” But I believed. I believed in Black Sheep Coffee’s uniqueness, in the vision of its founders, and in the idea that no matter how crowded the market is, there’s always room for something exceptional. In 2024, we opened four locations across two cities in the UAE, all in the most prime areas. We served hundreds of thousands of cups of coffee and became the first in the region to champion Robusta beans. We made thoughtful adaptations to the local market and built an incredible team of the best baristas in town who brought this vision to life every single day. But what stood out most, beyond numbers, was seeing the lives we touched: school friends reconnecting over coffee after years apart, people having their first dates, someone finding their dream job, or a long-awaited real estate deal finally being closed at our tables. Black Sheep Coffee became more than a coffee shop—it became part of people’s stories. The biggest lesson of the year? Never let doubts—or doubters—define your path. Believe in your vision, take on challenges, and stand out. Being a “Black Sheep” means daring to do what others won’t. With even bigger plans for 2025, we’re just getting started. 🚀🙏😍
