Did You Know? Agricultural and horticultural growers face significant challenges to maximize the return on their investments. While part of this equation involves the efficient use of inputs, a grower’s income is ultimately dependent upon crop quality and yield. Biological products, including microbial and biochemical biopesticides, plant growth regulators (PGRs), and other solutions, improve the quality and yield of crops under challenging conditions. Biopesticides help protect the crop from damaging pathogens, insect pests, and/or weeds that can divert or restrict the crop’s access to valuable resources such as water, sunlight, and nutrients. PGRs enable growers to improve crop quality and yield by evoking physiological benefits such as increased fruit size or enhanced color. And, in organic production systems, biocontrols represent some of the most significant tools a grower has to produce a quality crop. 🧬 Biotalys has introduced BioFun-8, a groundbreaking biofungicide program targeting Alternaria, a persistent and damaging fungal disease impacting fruits, vegetables, and specialty crops worldwide. This study investigates #biochar’s impact (0%–2.0%) on di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) degradation in #tomato rhizosphere. Biochar enhances rhizosphere pH, organic matter, and humus, achieving a notable 77.53% DEHP removal.
