Over the next two years, The Green City Zone will receive €600,000 from the EU to help speed up the shift to a zero-emission transport system by 2030. The funding highlights the incredible power of collaboration and innovation to reach sustainability goals. “This funding will help us keep exploring new possibilities in sustainable transport. With the latest battery technology and new ideas, we can solve current problems and expand solutions to help the whole region”, says Steven Sarasini, senior researcher at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden. The Gothenburg Green City Zone initiative is led by the CITY OF GOTHENBURG through Business Region Göteborg AB, and is founded by Business Region Göteborg, Volvo Cars and RISE. It involves a full-scale test environment in central Gothenburg, where private and public actors collaborate on sustainable transport solutions and innovations.
